    Scales

I have a set of digital scales. Only cheap off ebay. Would love to check them. Bought them last year but not had a chance to use them much. I suppose I could weigh weed ! - - - I seem to catch a lot of that !

    What tackle box?

I bought a plastic tool box from B&Q years ago. It opens up a couple of trays when you open the lid. It looks O.K. but leaks like a sieve, any rain or spray goes straight inside. I'm on the lookout for something else but don't want to spend a lot. Jim

    Open Comp

Dave ( Wight Magic ) , Dave ( Coddy ) , Bill ( Ferret ) and Myself all fished aboard Wight Magic. We had five different species on board, but nothing big enough to bring to the scales. We all had fish. We had a good laugh and a very enjoyable day out. Thanks again Dave, It's always a treat to be invited on WM. Well done to Rob and the team. It was a great competition. Congratulations to all the prize winners. Jim

  6. Welcome Alan,
  7. Mike, I know how much time, effort, and money you have spent on your boat. Don't sell until you've exhausted every option. There must be someone somewhere that has room on their drive for it. Anyone in the club got room in return for trips out etc. Does anyone know anyone with room for a few quid or the odd bottle of something ? Maybe an old lady on her own would let you use her drive in return for a bit of garden maintainance or something. It's such a shame that we always suffer at the hands of " The something for nothing Brigade " Don't give up. Jim
  8. Bugger ! Sorry Mike. Jim

    Lovely day

As Alun said, What a great day ! I was SO pleased at Thursday's meeting when Alun said he was out on Sunday if I fancied joining him. Hmmmmm, let me think, - - - - going to see my mother - in- law, or going fishing with Alun Jones. ? ? ? ? That warm smile from Jaquies' Mum nearly won it ! I'm glad she doesn't read this or she might put a spell on me ! ! As Alun said, mid-morning start ( 6.30 ). Straight out for mackerel. Got a few prety quick, then off for the next part of the plan. As Alun said, I got a " Big Un " and a smile to match it. After a while, we went and tried some drifts. Lots of fish, a good few dropped baits, more smiles. ( more sandwiches, crisps, chocolates ) The tide changed again and we went back to the earlier spot and anchored up. Alun had a nice bream and more bass. I had one run on my own rod. All of my other fish were caught on the rod that Alun loaned to me ? ? ? We heard loads of club members on the radio. We saw quite a few and stopped briefly to say hello. Finally got to say hello to Dan in " Dat Dam Boat " - - - - Didn't have time to take photos Dan, Mr. Jones doesn't hang about y'know. Alun, Thanks very much for the Bass Lessons and for a cracking day out. I feel that the next time I want to target these Poole Bass, I'll be better prepared to catch one or two. My son Steve called in later this afternoon and I got him to take a picture. With a proud smile on his face, he said " My Dad's got a Big One ! " Here's the picture to prove it ! ! ! !. Jim
