    Plonker

RAC will tow me 10 miles so it's doable. I could do it myself but would need lots of containers and make a mess in the drive.

    Plonker

Well I did it! Plonker ! 🤪 Over half a tank of unleaded in a Diesel. Anyone know someone who will come to my house & drain it all without ripping me off ?
  3. I'd call it 20 lbs if I was on my 3rd pint !
  4. Thanks all for the Birthday wishes. Been working today and NO BEER. Did have a takeaway curry & cake though. Steve & family came over for tea yesterday brandishing beer and a cake that his eldest had made. Not gone short of beer over the past few days so won't hurt to have a day off ! Jackie's gone overboard on the pressies so I'm a very happy old codger.
  5. Plenty of nets out there Rob. I hope you find a spot that's not been cleared out by nets. Martin: Thanks it was a real treat!
  6. Strange weather when we went Plaice fishing on Madness. Quite a few squalls about but none of them hit us.
  7. Was minding my own business on Saturday, Busy painting Hall, Stairs, Landing, Lounge. The aim was work til 1:00 ish then same thing on Sunday. Had a text from Martin to see if I was up for a trip? ( silly question) ! So we carried on all day with decorating. We were both as stiff as planks by tea time. Up early Sunday and left in time for the 08:30 bridge. Headed out on a fresh but beautiful morning. Went over just past the piers to try for a few. Martin was soon into a fish and our expectations were raised! A small Gurnard brought onboard. Then a few very small plaice. We were being blown offshore and moved along the coast as we came back in for another drift. Same thing again on the plaice. Very small. We tried all the way back to Poole with the same results . . . . . very small. I had one of a better size but not quite a keeper. Later in the day Martin Did have a keeper and gave it to me. It was a bitterly cold breeze out there and only the one keeper but it was just SO GOOD to be out again. We came back in the Harbour and tied up in front of Brownsea Castle and it was like a different day! Calm water, Sunshine and no wind. Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuvly. No fish there though Just a lovely cuppa. As always Martin, I thank you for the invite. I had a really great day. The lack of fish doesn't matter ( I'm used to that anyway ) It was just great to be out again. Jim

    Good old Wood

In my SPARE time . . . . . . . . . . . . We cleaned the pond out due to cracks and lined it. We had to make it frog friendly or as Wallace & Gromit would say " innable & outable " So I dreamed up a Frog Walkway for them. Just fitted it in place. And Zoomed in: Posh Frogs !

I may be missing something but........... You said . . . . . . . . " busy in the summer down there but I get mine out every time as insurance doesn't cover the boat left on the water without me on it. " Sometimes they all go home and if you're not back in time your boat stays tied up to the pontoon. If I'm wrong then just ignore me but please check every possibility and make sure you're covered. Always worth more £'s on the premium to be sure you're protected. Just my own thoughts. Jim

    Happy Bithday Jacob

Happy Birthday Young Jacob! Not many years ago I remember fishing for Bream near Ballard and heard an ear piercing shout " Dolphins " When I asked who it was I was told " Jacob " and saw a little lad on Grandad's boat. That was our first meeting although we didn't actually meet. I've watched over the years and know just how proud your Grandad is of you. 16 is a major milestone so enjoy your birthday and enjoy adulthood. Enjoy. Jim
  15. Happy Birthday Derek. Jim
