    Birthday Boys

Another milestone for you both. All the fives Wedger - maybe you should be playing bingo today.....
  4. A late morning start and it was off to Ballard to see Tony Way inTwo Ways and 2 friends already there and reporting the odd bream, pollock and a few mackerel. I anchored nearby and immediately found mackerel. A ballan and a 2lb bream followed, but - apart from mackerel -sport was slow in the non-existent tide. (bad planning) Tony planned to move to the patch and was happy for me to tag along. Again the lack of tide didn't help although a doggy and a dab responded to the bream rigs. Back at Cobbs for 5. Both the main engine and the auxilary didn't miss a beat after their annual service. It's always reassuring to have company.
  5. Spare no expense tonight then Sam.....

  7. I was very lucky today. It was because only a few club members entered the Poole Sea Angling Centre competition that my small(ish) 2lb 11.5oz fish came in fifth in that competition. The winner was 3lb 10oz but I don't know who caught it.
  8. All the best for today Martin. Hope you get what you wish for - - a big bream on Sunday maybe?
  9. All the replies are great and I decided to post a reply instead of liking them all........
  10. Paul, I just found out that there is a limit to the number of 'likes' anyone can post per day before an error message popped up. Is there a technical reason for this?

  20. I've been unable to find anything that suggests they are protected. Seee the attached link to a comprehensive government document about research into making certain areas arouind Scotland a marine protected area for the species. If you flog your way through the document it indicates 18 tonnes of the species was landed 2008-11. http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/0038/00389461.doc
