Had no chance Nige, Allan suggested that but it was just so fast and powerful .............then it was gone, all within about a minute, it went up the side of the boat and then changed direction heading towards shore at one helluva speed. Never had anything spool that reel like that before.

Rob, you should try , " The Poole Bay Monster " is about !! Got hit yesterday mid water, took off like an express train, clutch on Penn torque 200 done up to the max. with both thumbs on the spool and it just carried on going until the 30lb leader broke

Belated wishes Nige, glad to see boats going well.

Will be there as I always do this comp........weather permitting of course !! I remember going out in thick fog with Kev on Marichelle, huge swell just outside the harbour,we turned back.................then heard on radio that sea state was dropping and went back out, really weird because we were anchored up and we could hear voices , fog cleared and there was a line of boats about 100 yards apart. Think that was the year I came second, beaten by 1 pound

Went there today also.........but I think a fiver to park was a bit steep !! Decided not to pay that and left, shame really as I fancied going......... a lot of people had the same idea as me and turned round. Will always support the lifeboats via their contribution boxes, masses of people parking in ASDA and walking back. they would have made a lot more money if the parking charges had been more reasonable !!!! Mick

Now if you had a tv on your boat Jim, you would not worry about fishing..............I know of a lovely stand for your television, fits all make of boat !!
