  3. Costing is fuel plus beer(the crossing is a wrecking trip u just go home the wrong way! Id take your passport but ive never needed mine!

The best advice i can give with boat launching is make sure you are communicating with every one involved and take it slow. we launched our warrior 175 for a decade from some very difficult slipways(v steep, straight into the entrance of langstone harbour with tide pushing across, beaches in wales etc) but our only major issue was at portland marina which is one of the easiest to use i have seen. essentialy due to complacency and mis communication i ended up skinny dipping in march! Not fum
  5. Hi paul i am peters son and co skipper in training. we have slept onboard the previous two trips (me in a tent on the back. its doable but very disconcerting the first night on a swinging mooring! i think the sense of adventure made it enjoable first time!

  8. Was he sure it was a fixed hazard? We hit a railway sleeper with similar effects at higher speed
  9. Congrats on the boat! Rather than worry about an aux engine make sure you have a decent vhf radio (being able to yell for help is best, if you have a.spare engine but run out of fuel... we are Weymouth based but if you want a few trips we will.be looking for crew soon

  12. I don't know Charlie! havent been out and don't know anyone that has (discussions in the marina have been confimed to antifouling and how crap the weather has been) I reckon that water would be too coloured to be any good though
  13. Not specificaly but at least one big rock stack on the bill was smashed and chesil beach substantialy altered/battered so I would think it possible

  16. The water on the shambles is still very clouded according to the person we spoke to at portland marina
  17. I spent sunday afternoon scrubing freeboys- that wind was nasty!
  18. Huge decline on last year, we had a dozen a day in 2012 barely one or two last year. Inouur autum session in lime bay we dropped from 150 fish over two days to about 8. Strong rumour the commercial bass boats are targeting bream due to a lack of bass

  22. Actually suprisingly clear! We even saw a shoal of mullet in the marina
  23. Same feeling martin. Just want to point the boat south and go, this weather is a grind though
  24. Even with a window i wouldn't want to venture far! This time last year we were doing mid channel wrecks this year barely able to even reach the marina (if you haven't seen the the video of the wave crashing straight across chesil beech!)
