  1. Was out on Sunday 4th January on the Sadler Banks, no trawler seen.
  2. Thank you Martin (AKA Gummage) for saving the day and joining me on Marlin. Having been not fishing for 5 months this was a must do event. We caught the 07.30 bridge and set off for a drift in the harbour entrance to see if there were any Herring about. There were none!! My second part of the plan was to tie to a buoy in the Witch channel and fish there for a while. So we made are way off to the buoy and I could see Madness in the distance coming down Wills Cut and I had a sneaky suspicion that Madness was heading for the same buoy. This became apparent when I saw him cut across the end of Wills Cut. Unfortunately, we got there first and the look on Chris W's face was a picture 😛. Any after few expletives coming from the Madness crew they buggered off with their tale between their legs. 😂😂 We settled down and had a steady flow of small Bass coming on board, The weather started to settle in and Jerry called us to ask if we were happy to get the 13.30 bridge back in. Fishing conditions were certainly not ideal!!! We were quite happy having our cups of coffee, mince pies and Chicken Fried Rice, but we agreed and all met up in the pub for a few drinks and plenty of Banter. Despite the weather and lack of species it turned out to be a great day. Thanks again Martin for joining me and special thanks to Jerry for organising the event and raffle prizes it was well worth taking part. 👍 And a Very Merry Christmas to Everyone

  7. All is not lost Allan, My crew member has just dropped out and you are welcome to hop on Marlin on Sunday for the comp if you are interested? Let me know ASAP. Greg
  8. Yes as long as the wind is in a decent direction. On Marlin will be Greg Toms and Nigel Pearce Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Sorry to hear that Allan. Unbelievably due to my van being stood up for 10 weeks whilst recovering from surgery, the Van’s starting motor started to make a noise. Took it into the Garage and the culprit is the extreme damp weather we have been having. A bit of corrosion set in so had to get it replaced. I understand your pain [emoji20] Hope you can get it fixed soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. All good now Steve. See Weather Window Saturday. The image uploaded this time 😀

  12. That is interesting Steve, as I tried to upload a photo Yesterday in my Post and it would not upload. It gave Server Error Code 200 as the reason. Hope this helps. Greg

  18. It’s obviously the perfect storm for Mackerel. The demand for human consumption as we are encouraged to eat more omega 3 foods and the increase of natural predation i.e masses of Blue Fin Tuna, dolphins and whales entering our waters and the rising sea temperatures pushing the Mackerel further north. Difficult one!! This is a global thing. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, When I went fishing in Barbados with my local guy I fish with, he told me that Barracuda had not entered their waters this year for the first time. Barbados are also experiencing rising sea temperatures as well. Not sure what effect measures we can do as a club? Greg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Thank you Colin for your wise words as always. Much appreciated [emoji106] Greg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks Charlie, You are totally correct Charlie. The problem is they discharge you so quickly that it is difficult to take everything in. I did accidentally overdose on the Morphine at home on Saturday afternoon and I would not want to do that again!!! Nearly had to have the ambulance out as my oxygen levels dived. But all good now and as each day goes by it seems to get a bit easier to cope with. Greg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Great report Mal. And a brilliant walk. Even better seeing the Crossbill, very common in the North. I would say Sika. Thanks Greg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Brilliant reports Jerry Also great to see Stuie out with beaming smiles[emoji3][emoji3] Thanks for sharing. Greg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks Chris and everyone for your kind wishes and comments. Although the op went well the recovery time is going to be far more than expected. Typical me impatient!!! This year’s fishing for me has been pretty rough due to the knee issue. However, looking forward to getting out in about 4 to 6 weeks time[emoji106] And yes, that is when the weather will change!!!!
