  1. Just a bit of advice from my Dad several years ago, "Put another jumper on!" Your boiler will be heating up the pipes all the way up to the radiator which is turned off, so really the rad might was well be turned on. The water will flow around the system better as well, pushing out any air bubbles which are likely to be in the system. My advice would be put everything on full for a bit, wait for all of the gurgling and clunking noises to stop (!), go round and bleed the air out of the radiators, then turn down (not off) all of the TRV's so that it the house is just warm (not roasting)- this will probably take a bit of trial and error. This should be the most efficient way to keep your abode habitable. It is more efficient to heat the house up and then keep it warm than it is to heat it up, let it cool, heat it up, let it cool, or to try to heat up only parts of it (beacuse the cold parts will suck the heat out of the warm parts and the rads in the warm parts will be fighting against it all the time. Hope this helps.

  6. Well done!
  7. Planning on being out, though probably not as far out as you big boys!
  8. Well done to all of those who paid their entrance fee and ventured out, and an even bigger well done to all of those who managed to catch something big enough to weigh! And thanks to the Organisers. The venue was spot-on, as was the food, hopefully we will be allowed back next year! (Note to self, spend the next 12 months finding some special marks...)

I'm pretty sure Dorset is Westcountry too... I've got a Navman radio too. Have you not got yours wired up with your GPS? It's a DSC radio, so it's expecting a signal from the GPS. The ringing... I need to find out what that means too!
  10. Nearest place to you is Ambrow Trailers. They'll have the rollers, but they aren't cheap. You're looking at increasing your spend on the trailer by 100%! At least! Indespension site
  11. Was planning to go out most days, if not all days, but the forecast isn't great at the moment...
  12. Well done to the Franklin Family!
  13. Thanks everyone, looks like a trip to Cobbs is in order then.

I'm looking for a piece of teak, about a foot long, about an inch square. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
  15. Looking smart. Have you picked up the accent yet?
  16. Adam, I can sympathise. Whilst it is possible to launch single-handed at Baiter, and can even go smoothly with help from a capable friend, launching with wives/kids/parents/in-laws etc can be a nightmare. And that's even without adding in the added complications of it being busy with Jetskiers and the Birmingham Navy (Trailer section) as it is bound to be on a nice warm calm weekend (after a period of several weeks of bad weather). It can add unwanted stress to the start of the day and spoil the end of the day- both of which can put wives/kids off from coming out again. Practice is the answer, but with weather and other commitments, this can be difficult. Another option is to use a slipway in a marina. More expensive than Baiter, cheaper than a mooring. But totally different in terms of launch and recovery stress. Some of the guys who use he marinas may be able to advise, but I think as a for-instance Cobbs is about
  17. Adam those are excellent.
  18. Saw one being recovered at Wick on a Friday afternoon recently. The crew (recovering with a Discovery 3) seemed to be fairly serious anglers and had said that they'd been fairly far out in it on that day... but not with a 25hp!
  19. Excellent work! Fiddling about with machines in sheds should be positively encouraged!
  20. It's being put together by Dorset Wildlife Trust and Bournemouth University...
  21. Happy Birthday!
