  2. I once saw someone at Baiter with a new E-Tec doing the same. When I said he might want to turn it off until he got it attached to a hose, or on muffs, he looked at me like I was a **** and told me outboards are air-cooled, they have no radiators!
  3. Ian's pretty good at that.
  4. So cute [emoji7][emoji67]‍[emoji173]️‍[emoji67][emoji477]️ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Very well done you guys! And to think we thought we'd done OK! Did you weigh any of the boys catches? Might be some entries for the Wessex Angling Trust Junior Fish of the Month...
  6. We have set aside all 3 weekends, and are really looking forward to the first date aboard Alfresco. Team Annear are currently experiencing some logistical problems though, so ST might not be afloat. i.e. a ride on other boats gratefully accepted on the 2nd and 3rd dates!
  7. Not intoxicated perhaps, but surely sectionable?
  8. Yesterday was a rare aggregation of circumstances- free weekend, weather, funds and a boat = fishing. And we didn't blank - bonus! [emoji41][emoji226][emoji476][emoji570][emoji295]️ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Not too far from accurate, sadly. [emoji22] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Cheers for the input- keep it coming. [emoji4] The braid on my reels was on them when I bought them coming on for a decade ago, and they were second-hand reels! It's getting a bit fluffy at the hook end and it must start to get brittle after a certain time? I've got another reel which came loaded with mono and I never use it cos it's loaded with mono- might as well load it with braid instead. Sounds like Whiplash pro then. What weight? We bought some heavy stuff a while ago that was way over gunned.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. As titled! Which braid do you guys rate these days, and where's the best place to get it from. Might be time to re-load a few reels, so I'd be talking about a decent size spool, rather than a box with 50m in it.
  12. Sorted now- thanks Rob, Nige and Dogfish Dave.

  14. Sam & I did have a ride lined up on a rather swanky new boat, but as you may have gathered- that's off. If anyone out there has space for Sam and I we'd love to join you! Several of our skippers have had Sam aboard and can vouch for him, just worry about me!
  15. If anyone is wavering, Sam is no trouble! A few club skippers would vouch for him, I'm sure. I'm the liability!
  16. Hey All. Our ride for the Comp has fallen through (wait until you hear the details) so we're calling out for anyone who would like Sam and I to join them in the Comp, please! Please?

  18. Hey Rich!
  19. After a couple of recent threads which detailed the loss of rods and reels into the briney, I thought I'd make some landyards up. After choking on the per-metre price of 3mm line in the local chandleries, and not liking how stiff that stuff is, I ordered 30m of paracord and some nice mini spring-clips off ebay for £17, then realised it was coming from Hong Kong and would take about a month so ordered the same again from someone in the UK! Top Tip- check where your ebay bargains are coming from! Then in Asda today I spotted a packet of 4 paracord guy-lines for £2, so got them as well! When I got home, Postie turned up with the sprung-clips from the UK ebay seller, and so I turned 4 guy-lines and 16 spring-clips into 8 landyards (when the ebay Paracord turns up I'll keep that form something else! ) Anyway, here's one of them: My plan is to use the big clip (which is still tiny) around the rail (or other attachment point on the boat) and the small clip in a loop around the reel-seat. The clips were about a quid each and the line was 25p per landyard. Hopefully will be a bit quicker than tying knots every time.
  20. Very well done! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks Mal I'd better add a pinny to my tackle bag...
  22. Is there anyone out there who would like to make up a team with a Biff Angler (me) and a good junior (Sam, aged 10)
  23. Thanks All! Pretty run-of-the-mill day really- day at work, evening in, but the outlaws did come round with a tasty Birthday cake and I got a nice haul of pressies including some floating sunnies and a fish smoker. Just need to catch a fish now!
