For some reason I really struggle with posting photos on this site. Resize them, upload them to somewhere else, find the link t to that then use that link on here... PITA... <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212286&authkey=AM_zN84MrmdWb0Q" width="240" height="320" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212288&authkey=ACi3TTomodlp4U4" width="240" height="320" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212289&authkey=ANTiSKZ_ChAMbQI" width="240" height="320" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212298&authkey=AEutSoGbd_dK_1g" width="240" height="320" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212299&authkey=AC3vcKtd5SM5olQ" width="320" height="240" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212300&authkey=AFLQUjbttt8GKA8" width="320" height="240" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=69CFB8AF77E881A8&resid=69CFB8AF77E881A8%212292&authkey=AHEY7Ve4qvMRcwQ" width="320" height="240" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> Anyway, well done Sam, great comps, awesome organising of the weather, splendid flyby from 2 Lancasters a Spitfire and a Hurricane, a BBQ with additional pyrotechnics... Ace! Roll on next summer!

Thanks for all your hard work Sam. We could only make the second date (due to being in Jersey on the first date) but the boys had a great time yesterday, thanks in part to the brilliant crew and co-competitor on Alfresco, and also due the the format and the prevailing weather and sea-state. Fab! You even organised a fly-by of 2 Lancasters a Spitfire and a Hurricane! Then back to chez Chapman for a run-around, tree-climbing, prize giving and impromptu pyrotechnic display. Bravo! I think you can run the comp again next year! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Not sure whether to give Dom a Kayak rod for that trip out- less butt for him to get tangled up with...
-
Yep, Sam has the 20lb one so another will be ideal for Dom Will be on the lookout for another 12 and another 30 so we have 2 sets
-
And it may need to be braked...
-
Hi Mike I think these would make good rods for the Annear Jnr's Charlie

Please read about C- Bass! http://www.ukbass.com/c-bass-putting-the-conservation-into-seabass/ This is a project by CEFAS Please also read! http://wwz.ifremer.fr/bar_eng/The-Bargip-project2 and/or this summary: http://www.ukbass.com/the-bargip-project/ This is a French project but with many more tags. The tab on the webpage called marking tells you all about the tagging. They need as many tags back as possible. If you catch one of these on our side of the Channel, please consider assisting.

'The full SP' means Trev wants to know more details

Would also be interested in some glassing lessons- planning to build a hardtop for ST 'sometime'...

Apologies for this blatant begging, but... Sam has played for 'Poole Town Wessex Colts' since he was 6, but their sponsor for next season has pulled out. The league includes various teams from the local area. Last season that included Bere Regis and Sturminster Marshall, as well as Teams from Poole and Bournemouth. If any of you fancy having your firm's name on their shirts, or knows a firm that is interested, or would like some more info, please let me know. I don't know what is involved but I can put you in touch with those that do. Many thanks, Charlie

Oh My Flippin' Goodness. What a awesome looking piece of kit.

Sorry guys, report is behind schedule this month due to some non-marine-conservation things taking priority. Will crack on with it tomorrow evening!

My boys are up for this, and I'll do what I can as a Dad. Just hope the weather is better this year. Boys wanted to get out a lot more last year but the weather gods didn't play ball. The same goes for the Club comps- would live to fish them all... In fact the weather has been better either end of the summer the last few years- worth running comp until end of Sept? We'd definitely be up for a ride on a big boat! Sam's been out on a few club boats- I think the skippers would vouch he's not a problem Dom might just be old enough now for a day afloat fishing- he did 2 full days on Star Turn during the Air Festival last year- no issues at all. Anyway... 1. Jayden Wald 2. Ellie Witheford 3. Daniel Burt 4. Jack Allen 5. Reuben Franklin 6. Thomas Boyle 7. Jacob Givans 8. Sam Annear 9. Dom Annear

For the AGM, held 03/04/2014. Marine Conservation, for me at least, is decreasingly about ‘nature studies’ or very the local issues affecting ‘our waters’ or ‘our fish’ and increasingly about being aware of the international factors which are or will be detrimental to our sport. Globally the last 12 months has seen a huge increase in awareness of and measures to counteract a whole range of these factors, and the internet has been key in this. There is a lot to sort through! Locally the SIFCA have had their resources and their powers increased, and are working on multi-agency operations with the Police and the MMO, so I would hope that we will begin to see some of the benefits, such as an increased focus on illegal fishing (rather than just shellfish collection) in Poole Harbour, the huge amount of netting in the harbour and close inshore and how they intend to protect the nearby MCZ’s. Our angling, or rather fish populations are under a lot of pressures, globally, from issues such as: Overfishing and unsustainable/destructive methodsFactory ships, such as the Chinese fishing vessels- Disproportional catches Reallocation of Quotas- Big boats to small boats EU Legislation boat scrappage and subsidies for new kit CFP Reform including the discard ban Illegal Fishing‘Pirate’ fishing Fishing unlicensed in territorial waters Fishing in marine reserves Catching protected species Catching over quota and/or outside of regs Tuna- Direct action by ports in Africa Climate change, Ocean warming, ocean acidification and pollution (including plastics) Beach cleans. Big increase in public awareness due to the winter storms. Chinese lanterns. Public support for a ban increasing. More publicity due to huge fire at plastics recycling plant Economic benefits to manufacturers of not releasing plastics into sea Recycling and salvage Other Commercial Activity Marine Wind Farms Sea Bed Mining Dredging Coastal Erosion Protection Go Australia! Dumping dredging sediment on the Great Barrier Reef. Economic value of recreational use of fish stocks (and catch and release) Sea Angling 2012 What we require is Marine Biodiversity Species interdependency Ecosystem balance Species protectionSharks and Rays.
