    Boat Names?

Feeling really daft now as I always wondered why Pete JNR had called his boat Shytalk - I used to keep thinking that he doesn't seem particularily shy !!
  3. I find Ambrose Trailers on Barrack Road in Christchurch really helpful. Cannot recommend them enough. ( Wonder if I will get discount now )

    Boat Names?

Jack, Interesting the Llamedos name. I work on postal stuff at the moment and there are people who have houses called by that name and indeed some houses are called Llamekcuf ..... I just love the thought of some old ladies walking past remarking on what a lovely name that quaint house has We chose NEO for the boat because I am mean and it saves money on the lettering
  5. Coddy, Wick is indeed shut. Paul launches from Bridge Street so no problem for him.
  6. Planning on having a "Fishing Chat" session one evening per week and to do this I have updated the chat software. The new software is much more dynamic and utilises a Java Client. ( You will have to tell IE that you wish to allow to install ). Try it out form here or from the chat link at the top of the forum LIVE Chat
  7. I wonder who is going to answer this one then ...... In short - yes, but I am not the right person to ask.
  8. Wonders of the internet. Navtronics have one :- Swiftech Navtronics I am contacting them to see if they still do them.
  9. Power lead - just had a second look for it ( honest I did look before ! ) - still no sign. The radio is actually in good nick. I will see if I can track a lead down somewhere ( maybe E-Bay ). The radio is a Swiftech M168 PS: My other old radio is at
  10. George Bush is visiting an elementary school and announces to the class, "You can all ask me questions." A boy named Bobby raises his hand and says, "I have 3 questions for you": 1) How did you win the election with less votes than Gore? 2) Isn't it true that you want to declare war on Iraq in order to get oil? 3) Why hasn't the U.S. caught Osama Bin Laden? Then the bell sounds and all the kids run out to the playground. 15 minutes later the kids come back in class and again Bush says, "You can all ask me questions." A boy named Charlie raises his and says, "I have 5 questions for you": 1) How did you win the election with less votes than Gore? 2) Isn't it true that you want to declare war on Iraq in order to get oil? 3) Why hasn't the U.S. caught Osama Bin Laden? 4) Why did the bell go off 20 minutes early? 5) Where is Bobby?
  11. I'll let you know when I have found out myself Actually, I used to have a lot of success before I had the boat, fishing for the mullet in the harbour ( and a couple of reasonable bass ) . Since I have had the boat I haven't caught a mullet from it ...... ( not that I have tried that hard to be honest ) Got the hang of catching bream though ( and whiting ) but of course, not as big a your one zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  12. Welcome back Mike. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Things have changed around here since you were last on here..... I suspect you may have some serious competition in the "joke" categories When you feel up to it you are always welcome onboard Neo and I still have the old tatty VHF radio for you ( although I cant find the power lead )
  13. Roll on Sunday. Weather looks reasonable ( possible bit of rain and light winds ). Launching from Mudeford as Wick will be under repair Worth noting this in case any other members forget and go to launch from Wick. WICK WILL BE CLOSED Sam, Good luck hunting down the tope ..... - we will be the boat catching bream / doggies / mullet / bass / flatties etc. ( I wish )
  14. Try this website - well impressive :- Property Prices
  15. I now have crew, so just Paul J and Kam looking for crew at the moment.
  16. You wish ! - My money is on mullet. BTW: If you want to see some HUGE bass ( and these were definitely bass ) then take a trip to Gunwharf quays and look in the part where the old crane and ship torpedo is. There are no fishing signs though but some of the fish in there must be heading for double figure size.
  17. Jack, From your description it sounds as if you haven't pushed the tube right down the braid ( ie. out of the way ) at the first step. Then push braid back on itself as Paul J has said, so it opens up. Push the fly line in the hole in the braid and then brush the braid over the line and finally pull the tube back to cover the join. Have to admit it has been years since I used the fly rod though so this is off memory from some years back ....
  18. Duncan found this and looks pretty damn useful :- Fish Identification

  20. Nice one Gordon. Useful tips on the cable ties. I must admit I only put two on and they seem to hold fine. I did put three on at one time and had right fun getting the anchor to trip. Now I need some quiet weather and will get a trip out form Kimmeridge for some anchoring practice of my own.
  21. Ah but has he started talking in a high pitch voice since then ??

    Flipping Boat

Paul, If you are lauching from Christchurch on the Sunday for the maiden voyage, then let me know as I am going to be fishing the comp out of Christchurch and would be more than happy to be the "buddy boat" - espec as it will also be first time out for mine after engine service ( provided I get the mounting bracket fixed by Sunday ).
  23. Kam, You dont have to launch form Poole ( I will be launching from Christchurch ). Weighing is not necessary. You get points per fish ( up to 4 ) of differing species. Scoresheet is available on the site from here :- Species Scoresheet
  24. I am buying a 4x4 and am selling my Mondeo TDCI Ghia X ( 2002 plate ). Mettallic Blue. I have had the Mondeo from new and it has done 75,000 miles ( all motorway - to/from Portsmouth ). Diesel and you will get 47 MPG + easily. Performance is also good with 130 BHP available. I have been offered trade-in but will accept
