When I was on F pontoon I was on F167 next to yours. You must be in a lucky spot because I had to change most of my anodes twice a year.π’ Outboard anodes weren't too much of a problem because I kept OB raised so not all were in the water. Regular need to change anodes was one reason I went to dry stacking that and there was no need to anti-foul. I remember that there was boat about 5 berths down that always has a big anode dropped over the stern and wired to the battery negative when he was on the berth.

Beg to differ My Bennet hydraulic tabs can adjust the planing angle to bring the bow down towards horizontal and once the sweet spot is reached the speed really picks up requiring a throttle back to prevent submarining the wave ahead. With an outboard its all a balance of trim and tab and throttle to get the best benefits in any sea condition. Wouldn't be without mine Thoroughly agree with Martins comment If I ever have to replace mine i would get a set that auto retracted and also indicated the tab position on the controls Forgot to fully raise my tabs once and drystack lift burst a ram so always check now

Unfortunately NOT ME Still observing lock down at the moment being in the high risk vulnerable old fogey with health issues category. The family have self isolated and locked me and Denise down for the time being having performed their own Risk Assessments. Quite enjoying having the shopping done for us you never know what will turn up. I am going to leave it a few more weeks yet to see how the R number is affected by the lock down relaxation and if things improve will probably escape and do a runner

That's why I chose a fibreglass car with a rugged ladder chassis when in my youthful sportscar era. well it wasn't really a sports car it was the first hatchback a Reliant Scimitar GTE. Looking back on it now it was a pig of a car but I did keep it for 12 years even had the engine and suspension rebuilt and upgraded. What a waste of time . Then along came the kids and the Vauxhall Cavalier FWD....with power steering what a revelation...that turned out to be a pig of a car as well.π©

Would scare me to death to get into an mgb or sprite nowadays. Have you seen how small and flimsy looking they are compared to today's behemothsπ

Hi Adrian, Does the boat come with an anchor? It just looks like rope overhanging the bow to me. It seems to have an anchor locker but no visible means of securing the anchor rode e.g sampson post or cleats. Also there is no bow roller fitted which doesn't help with lifting and securing the anchor . Don't forget you also need a length of substantial chain between the anchor and rode. This will ALL need to store in your anchor locker. if you select an appropriate bow roller the anchor could be retained on it . All above just means more expense I'm afraid.Better to be aware up front

Seems to be the best practical solution Steve Hooking the rope may be made a little easier if you attached a small ringed buoy to it. At least itt would give you something to aim at π

Question but maybe I've already answered it ? How would you guys deal with getting a dangling tripped anchor reset and re positioned back on the bow roller? Firstly I guess you'd have to lean over the bow roller and heave it onto the deck. This would mean you would need to leave more length of chain between the windlass/gypsy and the anchor by not lifting it fully and giving yourself enough spare to grab hold of and manhandle. 15Kgs is a hell of a weight to lift at the best of times let alone when your hanging over the bow roller. Without a windlass the Alderney ring method supports weight of anchor until you have to do the final straight lift over the gunwhale much easier than bent over the bow roller. Do you use a flying gaff hook to lift the anchor from the bow and straighten the lift ?

When I was on the freelancer treadmill I used to hate the commuting to large open plan offices sometimes having to commute hundreds of miles a day with overnight stays common during the week. I was lucky in that I was very much more productive and concentrated on tasks in hand when working from home. in fact I generally had more and better technical resources at home than at the clients premises and certain clients allowed maybe 3 days a week at home. Pre -freelancing I used to enjoy the banter and interaction of project colleagues in dedicated project member office setups of say 6 desks per enclosed office. It was a very efficient way of working. Open Plan office working ruined that and when hot desk-ing and paperless working came in efficiency went down the tubes as did accuracy. How can you check electrical /control wiring drawings sometimes in excess of 350 sheets per set with each sheet having maybe 80 separate cross referencing labels without paper copies. Some clients even removed storage facilities so files had nowhere to live. Glad I decided to eventually retire..Don't miss the rat race one little bit. Hopefully this countrywide lock down will instill more trust in the working from home employer employee relationship. RANT OVER off the bed soonπ
