  1. Mark and I will be out, hopefully for all three days, thats if we can carry enough food and beer for the duration No, seriously, it will depend on my fathers health whether I spend a full 48hrs down in Weymouth this year Lard
  2. Can we offer some suggestions for club members e-mail address'?? Oh......I'd like Lard @ pbsbac.co.uk............unless Mark B has it already! Rich
  3. Which one is the ugly brute?? Nice fish m8. Rich
  4. Dom, few and far between...but the water is warming every day. Best bait is a huge bunch of worms on a 4/0, but unless you are very shallow, you will be plauged by smoothies!
  5. Early stingers showing at Sowley. Also the possibility of a guilthead a tad later in the year. Get close in for the stingers......try about 15 feet.......you can watch them foraging!!!!
  6. Got a few like these..only in silver/grey. They dive to a depth of around 30' at 6 ish knts. Rich
  7. Tom...usually fixed to a very short paternoster and jigged. Rich
  8. No worries Mike, Dad has been ill, as isnt too good again, so I wont be launching out of weymouth for a while, I'm sorry to say. I will however, give you abell over the next week, just to confer regarding recent catches.......I have some good gen for you. Rich

    Hooks

The red worm hooks are ok, but are generally a once only use hook, I find, as with toothy fish like wrasse and bream, the red coating is stripped off after a few hook ups. I used these as a match hook, but after ten fish of each, cuckoo, ballan, bream, garfish, etc, they do loose their sharp edge. The wide gape big mouths are good, and from UK hooks, they are a good price. Also, the small black circles Mike does, are excellent for bream and wrasse also. Rich
  12. No more crew then??
  13. Any more crew needed????
  14. Allan, the giltheads in the harbour are mainly in shallow water, and being very easily spooked, they are hard to bag. The method in the harbour is drifting. The method over near Ringstead is anchoring up, but historically, you have to be bang on the numbers!!! Even then, they are few and far between, but with the huge numbers of Blacks showing this season, I anticipate bigger shoals of Gilts. Rich
  15. Very close to one of Mike's ringstead marks is a mark which produces Gilthead bream, later in the season. With the early arrival of big big Blacks, this year I am anticipating some good giltheads down there too. We may see you on the briny over that weekend........just look out for two lardy lads scoffing bacon butties Rich Mike...I'll bring that box down next time, and mesage you OK?? Regards, Rich
  16. Adam, kit or not, from a dead fish scale removal is a scince!! Please get behind this initiative lads, we need the data for good records. Rich
  17. Guys...if you are buying scoff from the cafe, bring your own tommy sauce. They charge like wounded rhino's for it!!!!! Lard
  18. Nippers in Adam
  19. Sorry Kam..no offense meant...it was an annalagy Rich ....................or is it a simmilie?? as opposed to a smilie!!
  20. Unfortunately, as already pointed out, money from one good siurce is frequently upped by the Gov't in seat, to fund their ridiculous initiatives. If the money raised from the VEL went back into the roads 100%, we would have a system inplace similar to the german autobahns...and not the back streets of Hong Kong as it is here in the UK. Its an utter farce to think that the million or so nglers who follow their pursuit should pay for bloody do gooders to walk across someones back garden along a fore shore is unthinkable. What next?? A tax on watching footie at your local ground???? Rich
  21. At the end of the day, its all about what they want. Its seems inevitable that we will have to fork out some money towards a licence fee. I am, however, all for the anti lobbyists, like the SACN, etc etc, who seem to be campaigning tirelessly for our good. Five hundred different petitions is only going to spread the anglers word thin....concentrate on one thing at a time.
  22. Mine is on a shark!!!!!
  23. Should have saved that catch for sunday Dave!!!!! Cracking fish
  24. Putting money into research should not come from recreational anglers...full stop! This is a government initiative, which should be funded by central Government, IMHO. Openening up the coastline...why should we pay for this?? Let the walkers who will have benefit from this pay for the luxury!! I dont want to fund this either!!!! More small boat launching facilities......why charge just fshermen??? This should be funded by ALL small boat owners, not just anglers Upgrading reefs and shoreline structures?? This should be paid for by local council tax payers!!!! The council benefits from an influx of visitors here! Admin, monitoring and inspection???? Jobs for the boys, my friends, jobs for the boys!!! I'm sorry, but I am 100% against this!!! Rich..........now off soap box
