Apparently, Lygnite is the densest of woods, but box is also a good substitute. However, to get a good diameter of box, the stem is going to be a hundred or more years old!!!! As for the gay whales, I think welsh rugby is actually on the up. Rich

Good find Coddy, possibly the largest selection of moulds I have seen for sale by an individual seller, albeit he is quite expensive for some. I like the look of some of the Carp mould available, they look good for flattie leads for use in the harbour. His powder coat is expensive compared to other mail order compamies, but again, he has the full range available from the states, in dayglo that isnt generally available over here. Good also, that he offers ladles and melting pots. I'll have a larger one of those off him. (His cannonball moulds are a third more expensive than I paid!!!!!) Rich
  7. I'm on for Sunday, Mark, have we cuttle left in the freezer?? If not, if we are launching from Lymo, I will nip into the nick and grab some from the freezer. What time at the slip?? Rich
  8. I know one thing for sure...................that prop hasn't been taken over Mudeford Bar!!!!
  9. Mike, the trick re "officers" and "NCOs" and Rankers, is for the the experience from the ranks, to suggest something to the officer i/c, in a way he thinks he thought of it, then go about putting that suggestion into practice the way its always been done. The hard thing, for the officer, is to distiguish the sh*te from the ranks, grab the "good" idea, stick with it long enough to see fruition, then take the praise, and disseminate it downwards. If he doesn't, his "good ideas" very quickly dry up!!!!!!
  10. Reg, pencil me in please, confirm by phone later on. Cheers, Rich

Lardy boys prefer Stella to G&T's PJ, with saussage sarnies thrown in, as well. Surely to follow the retailers reccomendation is fine, as far as guarantee's are concerned. Rich
  12. Dave, regular rope uses, such as climbers, tree surgeons etc, are taught to check the rope every time they use it. When paying out/hauling the anchor rope, a tactile check along its full length, ooooer missus, will feel any flat spots/abrasions, and paying attention with eyes will show any frays etc. Get into this habit, and it does work. Rich
  13. My Grandfather on Mums side, God rest his soul, was the brain behind the Esso, as it was back then, not Exxon, Put a Tiger In Your Tank slogon and designed the first tiger cartoon for them. He actually sufferred a heart attack at his drawing board in Esso Fawley, and died shortly afterwards. Unfortunately, not being a privateer, he wasnt able to licnse this work, and was paid no royalties. However, I'm with the afterburner on this one, good use of excess burn, fat boys rule, OK?? Lard.
  14. I appreciate the weather has been bad Paul, but you should get out more.
  15. Alun, bear this one in mind if Paul offers you a challenge!!!!
  16. Adam, a passing note of thanks, really, crewed many times for you on BW, shared some good times, and some great scoff, I very nearly dipped my toe into boat ownership with one, too. However, I'm positive that the new boat, will not be a replacement, but a new beginning. Good luck with the trial, and thanks again for the trips out. Rich
  17. Heres one for Sam, surely??

Mike, glad they could be of help. Rich
  19. There was a stated case when a local police authority had to refund monies collected from hundreds of motorists, and clear points annotated to licences, because guidelines had not been corectly adhered to regarding signing before a speed camera. It was a southampton solicitor, Barry Culshaw, who was the successfull solicitor concerned in overturning these allegations/enforcements. Rich
  20. I may be missing something here, but under the Road Traffic Act, dont notices have to be placed before areas covered by speed cameras, before summonses may be preffered?? Exactly the same as covert speed traps that are challenged in Magistrates usually get overturned?? Rich
  21. Mike, seeing the boats and skippers mentioned, and the time restrictions, I would envisage marks close to the Harbour, or just outside the Harbour, allowing max fishing time, and huge range of species available close inshore..........but what do I know!!!!! Rich
  22. Alun, where are you going to launch?? Rich
  23. Billy, I'm in whatever happens mate, and hopefully will be able to collect en route. Rich
  24. 7/10, see me!!
  25. Adam, having just gone through the checks, it takes approx. six weeks, and the level we will require is a full check. This costs in the region of twenty quid or so, but I will check in the office at work on wednesday. Each check lasts for a period of five years, but again, I will check. Mine has just come back, Dec 06, so I am covereed, and have a tangiable copy of the certificate, if anyone needs perusal!! That being said, I know that our club has limited juniors, unlike yours Billy, which has the largest junior section in the country, so it may be prudent for them to whack in a few checks, for coverage for your own comps. I think that if a parent accompanies their own child, thats different, but it is better to look into this before the event, than have to cancel a well organised comp due to bl@@dy red tape!!
