Hard day at the office Mike??
  4. Yes Paul, although they overlap slightly, so care is needed when strapping down. Percy will take about a tonne.......oooooooo metric again, sory Mikey , so thats quite a few fence panels. The posts will slide underneath the panels, so if you need to shift some, give me a shout. Depending on how many you are thinking of, Adam may be able to get a better price than me, and his company may deliver to your door, just a thought. Rich
  5. Ah yes Mikey, but I am positively less mad than you, as my IQ is a mere 119.
  6. Al, most proprietory waterproofing agents are pretty good on smoth surfaces with little abrasion, but clothing requires, generally, waterproofing designed for clothing. I still havent had a definitive answer to another question from a m8 of mine from Orvis, so I will badger him today for an answer on that, and ask him about proprietory waterproofing agents from orvis.......I also get 50% discount through him on all cash purchases Will PM you later. Rich
  7. Alun, were not going to venture out this week, the tides are too huge for what we had planned, sp maybe sunday for us. Are you going out?? Give me a bell, or PM your number please. Rich
  8. Mike, you truly are as mad as a fish, and undeed, up the hat shop.
  9. Alaun, if Mark and I downt get out of Weymouth, perhaps I may crew for you? Rich
  10. Dan if you want to borrow the Hi-Lux you are more than welcome m8. Will take a couple of trips though, same as a flatbed Transit though weight wise. Percy will take a tonne. Rich
  11. Yes MIke, it was caught on a fillet 14cms long, 4cms wide, tapering to 2cms. Dropped to the bottom with a 700g sinker. I believe they were fishing in 32 metres of water, but it still took about 9 minutes to land!
  12. Go on then, twist my arm Paul. Ive always wanted a trip on Shogun after watching the mad bugger a few years ago in Alderney!!! I'll book the day off tomorrow. Rich
  13. Well done Slam Dunc!
  14. Duncan, have a look at this site, www.fishing-boating.com, and go to west coast florida alabama. It covers sand Key, although I have found that if you post a specific question, they dont generally get answered. Its more a place where local skippers, or Captains, as they like to be called, post their recent catch reports. Hope this helps.......still havent spoken to Rich......he mut have been at church!!!! Rich
  15. Adam, MAM = Max authorised Mass
  16. Adam, I would go to the weighbridge to be certain, and get a copy of the train weight, with car and boat laden for a "normal" days fishing. That way, when Old Bill pulls you if you are slightly over the centre line on a corner or similar, you have a recent weight cert, and he wont spoil your day!! Rich An after thought on this one would be to consider inviting a Traffic Plod to one of our meetings to explain the law.
  17. Duncan, the area of Intercoastal behind Sand Key, holds a reasonable head of Tarpon. They can be seen patroling under the bridge, and drifting in a small boat can produce them. I took mine on a freelined Live shrimp.I'll ask Rich what he is up to, he may vollunteer to take another "crazy brit" out on his boat, I can only ask. Rich
  18. I like the "discreet" jacket!!
  19. Duncan, I have just spoken with my friend Rich in Tampa, it was reasonbly warm, and fishing isnt fantastic. On the fly, from the ebach, on a genlty sloping area, early morning, before the walkers get out, one can expect Snook and Crevalls, withing knee depth to a clouser, on a floater. As soon as the ebach lvens up a tad, say goodby to good sized fish within casting distance. Livebaits will take stuff like passing Ladyfish, and small jacks. Fish anywhere over sea grass, with either a shrimp livey or immitation, or a clouser, to target Reds and Sea trout. Redfish are very good sport, and eat well. Either side of the top of the tide target Sheeps head with a full circle, about a 2 or 4 is good, with a freshly scraped off barnacle, freelined down a wall or pier piling. These go like frieght trains, once hooked!! stingray can be taken at night from most beaches, using cut fresh fish baits. I'll try and locate a guide for you, give you an idea of expense. Hopefully I will speak with Rich sat afternoon/evening, to see whats what. Regards, Rich
  20. Dan, absoluste cracker mate, top drawer. Stillwater fish are often stockies from fish farms, and I know the FF have been breeding huge amounts of chub in the test valley for introduction into still waters, so that fish is indeed a cracker. At that size, they look like batleships, a true monster, and not at all easy to catch. Rich PS I note that the water was probably coloured like coffee, so the fish probably stumbled upon the bait, and gave up dead easy, so perhaps not such a whopper!!!!!! Nice one m8

  24. Gordon, all good stuff, but most importantly, is that if you do call them up to let them know where you are intending to steam, etc etc, that you call up when you are back in safe waters, and clear their records, so they dont start asking for you!!!! Rich
  25. Cracker, absolute cracker m8. Well done. Rich
