Paul, I use Tiscali to launch onto the net, but I run a firewall, and regularly use a virus scanner. I clean the hard generally every week, and have had, historically, three forms of the netsky virus. The last clean up was done three days ago. Is it moi?? Rich

Bob, are the brake pads that indespension use just a set of pads from say a mini or an A40...something like that? It may pay you to take a set into a motor factor shop, and look in their bible of brake shoes/pads. I wouldnt be at all surprised if they are just a set of mini pads, or similar! Bearing measurements are generally internal diameter measurements, so they are easy to get replacements for, again, just remove a bearing, and go to the bearing supplier, I use SHB bearings in Budds Lane Industrial estate , Romsey, they are fantastic. replacements for my Penn rells were about 50 quid, I bought all mine for 12 quid!!!! Major saving! Rich

Yes Martin, they must be! In that case........as I'm cooking next week, do any memebers want 12oz, 1lb, 1 1/2lb, or 2lb leads made up?? I can make them for you, with a straight swap of raw lead for moulded weights. Post here or IM me, or call me on HOME number please. Ta. Peter (Shytalk), is it ok to hang on to these a little while longer, also do you want some made up?? Rich

Bob, out of interest, do indispension come up with a good price for the bearings?? I use a local company for all my requirements, even down to mini bearings for my multipliers, and they are soooooooo much more competitive. What are the sizes u are replacing, I'll give my bloke a shout if you like. All mine have been off the shelf!!! Rich

Paul, I am unaware of tide times this sunday out of weymouth harbour, i have a tide chart, so will check. I have orderred enough bait for Mark B and I to fish, but the lug wraps are cheaper from Andy than they are from Poindesters, so I checked on their opening times this sunday. They open at 0630 sharp, so thats where my 0630 came from. I'd hate to miss out on my prime quality bait!! I have orderred us a pound of Rag, as that will cover two for the day, although I shall be taking a few wraps of Black Lug, and a small box of frozen squid for tipping with. I'm afraid that the super douper christmas tree type beady rigs will be rearing their ugly heads from the bowels of my tackle box. I fyou wish to order rag, Paul, give Andy Selby a ring on the above number and place the order, and we can collect before parking cars. I'll speak with BB re car parking facilities..........god I'm good.....prior preparation and planning prevents p*** poor performance!!!! See you guys Sunday, see you friday BB Rich

Billy, wraps ordered for sunday!! Will a pound of worms be enough for Mark and I, also, what are the chances of securing the vehicle in the secret car park?? Attractor spoons, or just beads mate?? Will speak during the week Rich
-
Isnt it an expensive weight using lead? How about filling the pipe with concrete? This will also break down if lost overboard. Rich
-
Mark, I'd love a trip on Loyal Royal.....speak in the week. Rich

Yes Charlie, as Duncan says, a meagre 12lb 12oz!! I doubt I'll top that this visit!! Rich

Those kids are actually holding a normal sized frog......they are infact, pygmy children from that well known tribe, the Wheretheheckarewee's. They gorw to an average height of 3feet 2inches, however hunt along riverbanks where the vegetation grows to an average height of five feet. Every now and then, you can see them jump up in the air, shouting their ritual cry, "Wheretheheckarewe!!!" Rich..................sorry I know its V poor!!!!

Adam, Ive recently replaced the bearings in my penn LD reel, they were 14 quid in total..dont know how much penn will charge, mine came from SCH bearings in romsey..Budds Lane ind est. The reel is as good as new. Rich

Alex, reports are fairly common of large wreck caught pollack and cod being bitten in half on the wind up. As the others have stated, targetting these fish isnt just a chuck it and see, it takes plenty of planning and i expect, fruitles hours of fishing to hook one, let alone land it!!
-
Jack, the principles of casting are easy enough to talk through, however there is nothing like casting onto water to see how gently, (or not!), the fly lands on the water, its also better to see how straight u are shooting the head. I'm sure that when the weather improves, and there is little wind to hamper your efforts, we can get together and chick some fluff. It will be far easier for you , also, casting from a boat, so you dont have to be SO carefull, on the back cast. Quite a few of the guys are proficient, so we can see about getting one to one tuition. As soon as you get a fish on the end, you'll see why a fish on the fly is far better than a fish on a twenty class rod!!!
-
Charlie, we'll speak this evening. I have the pleasure of Swain jnr and Swain jnr as from 22nd March, for a whole week!! Will I survive?? Also, we'll need to arrange a couple more rods, I expect Paul J and Adam can supply. Rich
-
Sam...patience is a virtue!!! I've promised you some fishing on the river, and I'll stand by it!! I need to arrange another home for the fish we take out of the river, and we need movement licences etc, so it takes time!!! As Alex says, fly fishing is a piece of piddle, try and borrow a rod and reel, and just tie a little bit of wool on the tippet, and start by casting this. By the end of the first session, you should be able to shoot a staright line!! I'll take a fly rod with me when we go to my bit of river, and give u some lessons. Rich

Auchan do stock a good selection of gear, we go over about every twelve weeks to stock up witht the old vino colapso. I have seen Sabiki lures at very good prices, but not as keen as Florida ones...so I'll wait till we visit FLA again this year. I'll check prices when i nip over this month. Rich
