Kam, I will inform my pals on the Police launch of your loss......they may be able to recover said mislaid item, and book it in at office in southampton docks. Andy will let me know, ok?? Glad to read all the threads appertaining to this trip out, and yes, we live and learn. Glad you're all ok Regards...Rich

Met up with captain Pete at the pontoon, Whistler already to steam, we eased up river towards Wareham, finding our exact mark......erm...here looks ok!!! and settled into fishing. Having spent the previous evening making up wonder traces, looking more like christmas trees than flounder rigs, tackling up choosing two rods with single hooks, with smal weights. Into a fish fairly quickly, with pete still struggling for bites. Four hours, and four fish later, with two more falling to peters rod, we decided to head back towards the morring in order to get the boat back with some depth under the keel Tally for the day, Peter Snr two fish of around the pound and a half mark, me nabbing four fish, of about the same weight, best going 2lb. Well pleased with the days efforts, its always good to get fish, let alone target fish! Well done Mr Peck, a very good flounder, nice one. Thanks again peter for another good trip aboad Whistler. Regards, Rich

A well presented programme indeed, although his research for items was very up front. He once came up to my mate and I at Eyeworth pond in the New Forest, we were dragging garden worms across the lake bed for larger perch.......bugger me, he sat and watched us, a few weeks later guess what old Jacker is doing?? Yes dragging worms for perch, and old method he'd used as a boy!!!!! He did have good knowledge, but a lot wasnt his own!! Rich
-
Kam, it would be an idea to have his number so we can arrange a drop of cuttle and makky early next year Rich
-
Ok Kam...thanks........I forgot to add on my thread about the Needles last tuesday, Andy boated a lobster too.......not huge, around the three pound mark Rich

Kam, ask Adam to show you world famous south coast farmers knot, its quite reliable. Rich PS When are u going to have another delivery of cuttle?? I'd like some more to replace the stuff scoffed by the pout on tuesday!!! Rich
-
Martin, a few ray are still showing around there, we had the day before, nothing major, just an ikkle one, the scent cant get running with so many pout down there, perhaps we can artificially hike the price of pout at Billingsgate???? Rich
-
..............Rich returns after a hard days hunter/gathering down west........." Hi Love, is my dinner hot????" .............."Yes..if the bins on fire ", comes the reply!!!!!! Rich

Adam, if u can nab some, get some stormy sandeels for friday, they work very very well, Ive got a few left, will also bring a selection of stormys i brought back from states, various colours. Perhaps a look at some wrasse after weve finished drifting?? The bait for them down there is hermits, I'll try my best to nab some, if all else fails, I'll pillock BB for some. see u friday, regards, Rich PS GUESS WHO?? "Rich I've taken the day off...youre going fishing then?? Fine!!!!" HEHEHE!

As Adam states, the LSD........the solent salmon!! Chrlie, i thought i heard whistler out, did peter report back to u?? The needles was like a mill pool, only the touch of swell, but a plethora of small boats all around. Sam...do u just add to your baits, or change each time u reel in? I favour changing each time, to add fresh scent. Regards, Rich

Had our monthly trip out, me and the boys in blue, parking up SE of the needles. Yting after yting.....the best going 3lb 4oz's so not a bad fish, conger at about 25lb, (estimated), small spotted ray, solent salmon, (quite a few of those!!), some good sized pout, but alas no cod. Baits were cuttle, (minis), squid, and macky, although the largest yting fell to rag and squid cocktail. I think that the baits were mauled by hoards of pout before the scent trail could get going, with doubles coming to the boat on the larger 6/0 pennel rigs. A little annoying to say the least. Plenty of boats on the car park, but the radio was quiet all day. Bayzand was farther east behind freshwater, and he was maintaining radio silence, so maybe no nodders were snagged. Best of luck guys, I know that you are already on the marks as I type this, and I know for a fact Adam will update me constantly today if he is catching!!!! Tight lines chaps, Regards, Rich

Alan, I'd also love to, allas, Im out fishing a species hunt comp tomorrow, (outta Weymouth), and I'm on our monthly charter on tueday, next. Hopefully the hand will hold out!!! I'll watch the board though, as I haven't crewed on your type of boat, so would be good to see how she handles. I'm hoping to snag my own next year. Rich

Jimbob, it appears that the average size of caod landed off the IOW is now inexcess of the twenty mark. This is promising for New year fishing, as generally, feb is the best month......roll on New Year. Rich PS Nice fish u old shirtlifter.
-
A little bird who sits in investmments tells me it going farther down.............trick is, to buy before the arse end drops out of the pound, although, as Adam and Jimbob will agree, its already bottomed out in the fish I've been recording.....or not recording as the case may be!! Rich

My first Open ...almost!! On arrival at the slip, and after all boats wee launched......good old Coddy dave came to my rescue when Martin came up with the bright idea of me coming along for the ride........chesties on, scoff, waterproofs, flask and spare jumper under arm, I walked out to Maverick, eager to see the lads haul flatties. "Rich, theres a spare rod here if u want to fish", .....says martin, a kind gesture, i thought. " No thanks, I'm happy to watch u lot have fun...hehehehe", came the reply. After a lot of pontification, I was pleased to keep to my original idea of not to fish.....Ive only blanked here once says Dean..I dont want to do it today! Well.............youve read the report, but it was great to be involved in the club open, and yes lads....I'll be up for crewing on the flattie comp, hands are healed, stitches out on thursday, fishing a species comp with BB on friday, codding back of needles next tuesday.....way to go!!! Cheers for an excellent day martin, thanks to all teh hard work for this my first PBSBAC open. Rich

Kam..do u mean the shingles..or the bridge? The bridge is best crossed via a wide berth, it can be quite dangerous...the shingles shifts, again, worthy of a wide berth!! Rich

Sorry to hear that mikey, I'm amazed how fast this is healing, I can almost hold a full Pint!!!! By saturday evening I expect to have mastered that too! On the plus side, I expect to be far more use than I thought on sunday, especially as I'm staying on dry land. I'll save the spandex floatation suit for next comp Peter, OK?? See u at the weekend guys..............Rich
