  1. Gazza / Rob Glad to help in any way I can, Mobile 07743921757
  2. Hi Gazza The redfinn boat out of Christchurch is mine. I have owned a few boats in the past and bought the redfinn new in 2002, the sponsons on the side were added a year later and immediately gave the boat incredable stability, especially when drifting for bass and the waves want to come over the back, the sponsons stopped that completely. I don,t go out in rough weather but sometimes the weather increases while your out there and I have had no problems coming home in a 5 or even a 6 albeit slowly. The boat has plenty of deck space. 10 years on and it still performs well, the 60hp Yamaha has not missed a beat in all that time ( touch wood ) I can launch and retrieve on my own with no probs except if there,s a strong downstream wind it,s a bit more difficult. My boat has the high cuddy and I do get troubled with windage sometimes, it can also be a blessing at times, on the Ledge drifting for bass with no wind and the tide dropping other boats sit stationary but if there,s a little wind my boat still drifts and covers ground and has give me a lot of bonus fish. I don,t think there is the perfect boat but I have no plans on changing. The new Redfinn with smaller cuddy and 70 motor I would have thought would be a great boat. Email Dave Barnham, boat fishing monthly and ask for his opinion, he got one for himself last year and he probably has all the boat manufacturers offering him deals so they get a mention in the mag. Hope this helps. PS. - I also think the warrior 175 is a good boat. Dave McGonigle
  3. The chap who owns the Redfinn is Dave mcgonnagle he is the lower stour manager for RDAA FISHING CLUB an exceptional angler of all species what a year he has had on the barbel ..regular angler on true blue ... he loves his redfinn and the stabalisers he has on were trialled by redfinn on his boat .. god it shifts .. Nick Roberts also out of Christchurch has an Aquafish .. he rates the Redfinn very highly .. hope this helps ..

  9. Hi Guys Nice to see a local forum and some great posts as well. Being a old hand at sea fishing and having owned a few boats in my past i am now new to Kayak fishing and would love to get some local advice on where one can Launch I guess as Portland is out for a few weeks Poole would be a good place, Any marks worth trying hey not asking a lot here. As for the Kayak i have just taken delivery of a Hobie adventure island and busy fitting it out not a easy job working out what where and do i need it. Now itching to get a bit wet even if just a look about Thanks guys.
  10. thats not giving advice its accusation and you know it .look if you see anything read anything or suspect anything is amiss or illegal contact the authorities not slander someones name on a public forum .I do not expect you to side with me for one minute ,you do not know me from adam . had Tomo contacted the RDAA he would of been told livebaiting was allowed .the rules on livebaiting are clearly written in the book . has tomo contacted semcorp he would of been told the same ,but no he had to sour NICK ROBERTS report on a twelve four bass .i am still waiting for an apology but i wont hold my breath
  11. i never saw your original post the moderators moved it but was informed that you accused Nick roberts and the kayak anglers of ILLEGALLY LIVE BAITING IN CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR i understand you went on to say you had better have licences or you will be in trouble ...YOU WERE WRONG ON BOTH COUNTS ..AN APOLOGY WOULD OF BEEN THE NORMALWAY ROUND THIS .BUT HEY . End of issue oh yeah and if it annoys you ..you are forgiven again this time for the lack of an apology .
  12. Tomo you wish is my command .i have to say there are a number of misinformed people about if balifs and RDAA MEMBERS have told you live baiting in the harbour is banned ...so at great personel cost ..well alright a phone call i have sorted it for you . I have phoned Dave mcgonigle and he is going to clarify that live baiting is allowed in christchurch harbour on the RDAA WEBSITE he is also going to join here as a registered member and let you and anybody else know the situation ...LIKE I HAVE TRIED TO EXPLAIN semcorp make the rules RDAA LEASE THE FISHING RIGHTS ... and one other thing you must realise if you accuse anybody of illegal fishing you must be correct in your accusation ..a different person would react in a different manor ..you are still forgiven
  13. Sorry that is still not clear is it ..you are allowed to livebait as an rdaa member fishing in the harbour ..if you have any questions phone Dave Mcgonigle the lower stour manager .although John and Rom are the baliffs for the harbour Dave is the liason if you like between the baliffs .....number is in your book
  14. TOMMO I was also fishing in the harbour that day as one of the kayakers .i was annoyed at being accused of illegal fishing . Just a misunderstanding on your behalf . Funny thing though you directed it at three recently retired and one still serving RDAA BALIFFS ....look all RDAA waters alow livebaiting unless they state otherwise ..restrictions on the royalty i believe . i have posted this so you understand RDAA do not control the fishing in the harbour semcorp do and they have seperate rules you do not have to be an rdaa member to fish the harbour either on a day basis or season basis .anyway no harm done ...come and say hello we dont bite .......and you are forgiven tightlines ...Cam
