You did better than us, we were on a spot with the car park in range and had 3 good cod! The rest of the day was spent feeding the pout and the dog's. Once again the channels were rather elusive but a good day was had on board Illusion! plus a few stroppy congers!

I agree, and thats what a forum is about, open discussions and opinions, I maybe a little critical when it comes to quality but I work in an industry that has stringent quality controls to ISO9000 etc. As for the 175 you have, the floor is actually built using a completely different process to the 165. It is a shame there is not a Warriors owners forum as airing such a problem on what is a club site forum, may not be a good approach. I run a 75 etec which I consider the best engine on the market, however I am also aware of the many pitfalls of Etecs as they regularly appear on the etec owners forum, I beleive it a good thing to be aware of the bad points and be able to appreciate the good points. My experience and the current rectification work will become available, along with 4 other owners with very similar problems, I had to take the option to rectify my deck as the actual ridges in the floor become a trip hazard and the section between the ridges very spongy.

Thanks for that great white, it is rather strange that 95% of Warrior owners become very defensive when anyone is critical of the build quality. I have owned boats for the last 40 years and for an allround package Warrior 165 still tops the tree for me. However when you read their blurb, expectations can be high. There are without doubt quality issues with the build, I have since owning mine built up a dossier of owners who I meet on away days etc. there are some horror stories out there. I am not interested in "going public" but only wish to advise others of the possible problems they will encounter with a Warrior. I would not be forking out

JUST A FOLLOW UP ON MY LUMPY FLOOR, THERE ARE TWO DEFFINATE RIDGES THAT BECOME MORE AND MORE PRONOUNCED OVER THE LAST YEAR, I LOOKED AT 27 WARRIOR BOATS OF VARIOUS AGES AND FOUND THE SAME RIDGES, TOLD THEY ARE POSSIBLY THE STRINGERS RUNNING ACROSS THE BOAT. COULD NOT LIVE WITH THIS SO EMPLOYED LOCAL SPECIALIST TO REMOVE FLOOR AND REPORT. BELIEVE THE DECK WAS ONE SHEET OF MARINE PLY, WRONG OFFCUT PIECES OF SHUTTERING PLY HAD BEEN USED WITH PACKERS, BELIEVED THE UNDERSIDE TO HAVE BEEN FIBRE GLASSED AND PROTECTED, WRONG WATER INGRESS AND FUNGUS GROWTH APPARENT ON UNDERSIDE, ASKED THE SPECIALIST ABOUT THE STRINGERS?, WHAT STRINGERS !, JUST PACKING PIECES. MORE TO COME AS I HAVE NOW REQUESTED A FULL STRUCTUAL ENGINEERS REPORT ON THE 'HARD WOOD' KEEL OR LACK OF.THE PROBLEM IS MOST BOATERS ARE DRAWN INTO THE SALES BLURB AND BELIEVE THEY ARE BUYING THE BEST ETC ETC, A FRIEND OF MINE WITH A 3 YEAR OLD WARRIOR AS ASKED THAT I DO NOT EXPOSE SUCH PROBLEMS, "IT MAY HAVE AN IMPACT ON HIS 2nd HAND VALUE", I HAVE PHOTO,S WHICH I'LL TRY TO ATTACH, MORE TO COME, BUYERS BE AWARE

It appears that no one achieved the grand slam. So the comp was not won.

Just to add to my above comments. The EA coarse fishing rod licence allows one to fish on moving water for coarse fish only between the dates of the 16th of June and the 14th of March (dates inclusive ) . The Christchurch harbour , lower Stour fishery is open for Sea species fishing all year round. Can you see the inconsistencies? If fishing for lets say Mullet during the coarse fishing closed season, which EA rod licence should one hold? Perhaps a Salmon and migratory Trout licence? I don't think so!

Hi all Has anyone got a 8 or 10 ft tender for sale ? Many thanks Jim
-
No you do not need an EA rod licence for this comp. The conditions of the ticket only stipulate that you hold an appropriate licence. I have spoken to the fisheries technical specialist at the EA solent regional office and he has confirmed that no EA rod licence is required when fishing for sea fish (bass, mullet etc) even in fully fresh water. There is no EA rod licence for these species so they cannot sell you one. Don't just take my word for it , phone them yourself .

Will you be participating? "Sea Angling 2012 is a new initiative enabling sea anglers in England to contribute to the scientific understanding of fish stocks off our coasts and how they are changing over time, and to ensure that the needs of sea angling can be represented as effectively as possible in future marine policy. It will provide the most comprehensive information yet collected on recreational sea angling activities, its catches, and its social and economic value in England."
