Only 5 C over the Ledge yesterday.........needs to warm up significantly before there's any sign of the bream. At this rate of 'warming', it could be full winter thermals for Alderney.

Terry......You didn't mention your delayed return journey !! What time did you get home??

Interesting day yesterday....cold foggy drive down. Had to wait 30 mins for crew Terry to arrive but set off into lifting mist and calm sea in full winter togs ! Only a couple of boats on the banks, one was Nige and another was True Blue ......all quiet on first 4 drifts, then Terry gets a turbo [ about 4 lbs]......tide starts to die and Nige is bored, so they go off. We had worms, so went to mussel beds and a crack at the plaice. Still too much tide there....so back to bottom banks for 30mins [blank!].....then another go for plaice.......now tide was coming good....and as soon as it went slack we both got plaice...2 each......all good size [2 to 3 lbs] and a jumbo one of 5 - 8 for Terry !! Obviously his day !!....as tide started, we went back to finish wiith another hour on the banks and Terry got another turbo. So Gastro tally for the day..... 4 plaice and 3 turbot. Tried with feathers but no fresh bait....where are the launce??

Anyone know of a 2 bedroom flat \ apartment available asap ??.....idealy somewhere between Winton\ Charminster and Christchurch ?? My daughter and her partner were due to move into new flat on Sat, Having spent past week packing up and cleaning old flat, and with all loaded into the van, went to collect keys for new flat............only to be told by letting agent, that landlord had pulled out last min [ 30 mins before ] !!! Nothing available....no obligations.......not the most helpful .......so we have all spare corners packed with their things until they can find somewhere suitable. Anyone able to help??? Alun.

I see the weather is shaping up to be windy for this ...again !! But the big difference is that forecasts are giving it coming from the North[ish] and cold !! If this holds, will you still fish it ....on the basis that we can find some shelter ? Alun.

No word here.........but I'm assuming tomorrow is OFF , again ! Any thoughts on next date ?? Signs are that later next week, things settle down a bit [ horray !!!] ...but that Sun , the 6 th, has a small , neap tide. How about going for the following...13th ??? ......or do you want to discuss at Thur's meeting ?? Alun.
