Yelo Alderney Report.
Met up with everyone and set off with my new shipmate Mike who was a fishing virgin . Followed lads to first mark and caught Pollock up 10 1/2 pound then off to Braye to fuel up (87litres used). Then decided to go back out to catch bait for next day and saw my first live Puffin.
Day2
Straight down to the banks and caught 7 1/2 lb turbot on the first drift and by the end of the session we had caught 5 turbot and 2 brill. Headed north for session on tope and first one landed was a massive 42lbs and went on to catch many more. Back in for food and drink.
Day 3
Back out to speedy with Quest II for more tope. We caught lots more but not quite so big as day 2. By lunchtime the fog set in so we headed back to Braye. Followed Tom and crew most of the time and was greatful for all the useful tips. Had a good walk around the Island and as the fog cleared had brilliant views of Jersey, Guernsey and the coast of France.
Day 4
After a delayed start went back out to the wrecks and caught a few pollock and then set off back to Poole arriving at mooring by 5.15.
Both Mike and I had a fantastic trip and enjoyed everyones company. Another big thank you to Tom and crew for all the help and to everyone else who helped to make another memorable trip.
Cheers
Kev and Mike.
