Wifee took me out for a meal at the cow which I paid for also had a lovely and very expensive bottle of wine paid for by......you guessed it Boys and grand children came around with chocolates and bottles of wine Uuumm a bit of a theme forming here with the wine Now sat at the pc with an Irish coffee and a whole bar of Toblerone. As for the others Mark I'll see you later Chris Yes Jim no chance but I will see you at the bar on Thursday Only jesting thanks all Martin
  6. Hmmm so it's not freshwater you think its sea water but it might just be p*** oh dear forget I suggested that but don't do what Rob suggests and taste it Martin
  7. Oh Tom think carefully before you part with her, you know you will regret it sooner or later, probably sooner. The answer to your problem is use it more, where else would we get the sort of escapism we enjoy on our boats? That said I have just had this years stack and store invoice crack the floor in the hall as it landed on the matt Good luck with whatever you decide Martin
  8. If you see Chris again sometime soon please pass on my regards to him. He is a top notch skipper/bloke and a friend of the club Martin
  9. Happy Birthday Brian Martin
  10. Same as you Adam although Martin Cobb (fibreglass specialist) has advised me that using coloured polish of the Blue variety or possibly clear definitely not white would be best on a blue hull. Martin
  11. Well There you go and I thought you were the original Martin
  12. Don't do it Adam as I can assure you after experiencing the Verado super charged 4st you'll want to go back to outboards Martin
  13. As Adam Pointed out in his other thread, only 15 weeks until this first foray over the water to Alderney. That will pass fairly quickly so no time like the present to get boats and crews organised. Boats booked in to date are as follows: 1. Mrs Sea Greg + Crew TBC 2. Alfresco, Charlie Sam and Dan + crew TBC 3. Quest II Tom, Chris + 1 0r 2 TBC 4. Awol Martin, Dean + 1 TBC 5. Wight Magic , Dave + crew TBC 6. Phaeton, Duncan + crew tbc 7. Serenity + crew TBC 8. Abode Craig + 1 or 2 crew TBC I Hope 9. Rosie One John + 1 or 2 crew TBC As you can see a fair few skippers are looking or at least were looking for crew. Can skippers update their list if they find crew. Also can we start a list of members that would like to crew. I have picked up Graham and listed him could any others interested please put their names below ie copy this thread and re post adding your name. Forum Name............Real name Little Sal..................Graham
  14. So as to keep all the Alderney information together I have split the post relating to this trip from Gregs original post. This will allow Greg to use his original thread for its intended purpose and also allows us to easily find and view our Alderney trip info. To help even more this thread is now pinned Martin
  15. I am also really looking forward to this trip especially as the weather and family bits got in the way of Awol attending last year. Anyhow the list of jobs to make Awol ready is as long as ever but mainly consist of: Alter radar arch ready for radar (this week hopefully) Remove the existing electronics cupboard as new kit won't fit in Fit radar Fit AIS transponder Fit new plotter Refit old A65 plotter along with sounder box Renew Bimini covers Service engine and leg Repair several dinks in glass fibre Repair some seating covers Wash and brush up inside and out Been down the boat this morning and removed the remote search light in preparation for some of the above works. I'm sure I must of forgot some jobs but that will do for now Martin
  16. Well done on persevering Stuart The flounders do seem to have disappeared early this year Martin
  17. Well at least they are staying there and that is good news Stuart Martin
  18. Sad if true That said I believe that all tackle shops are presently having a hard time as indeed are most businesses in the domestic sector Martin
  19. Graham The advice you have been given above is spot on. Definitely re-prop her or you will likely over stress the engine. A 17" pitch prop sounds about right but which type? If I were you I would talk to someone who is switched on and a club friend. Try Tom at propeller solutions out at Stur Marshal tel: 01258 858784 Martin
  20. It's a tough one Martin, but if you are four times as good you only need to run your boat a quarter the amount of time! OK I'll believe you but thousand of others wouldn't
  21. I'm keeping my mouth firmly shut. Jim and along comes the keeper of the ornaments
  22. But Tom will they not require beta testers that use their boats rather than just keeping them as ornaments Sorry couldn't resist Martin
  23. Well done Brian Martin
  24. Happy birthday Jon hope you had a brilliant day...........hummm brilliant day and bad weather don't really go together but whatever you did I hope you enjoyed it Martin
