  3. My highlights for the past decade are to numerous to detail here as every trip on my boat with my eldest boy is a highlight for me but a few others are: My first trip to Alderney on a club charter and staying in a very posh bunk house with loads of freinds from the club and catching some superb fish on that trip. Making the trip to Guernsey and Alderney in my own boat with very few mishaps Learning to use the boat for more than just fishing. I have been lucky enough to experience some brilliant social activities and cruising in the company of other club members. Seeing this club grow into the best small boat angling club on the south coast or maybe even the uk Last but not least being able to consider myself a friend of you lot Thank you Martin
  4. A very Happy Birthday to you George Martin
  5. Bump Anyone fishing this one.......we are on AWOL weather permitting of course Martin
  6. I have just insured with Pothcawl and they have covered me to France and the Channel Islands as did my previous insurer CraftInsure. I have previously found A plan expensive for marine insurance although most of my other policies are with them Martin
  7. I actually agree with Trevor and will also wait and see. The old ways are not always the best ways but I do need proof from both camps before I jump either way Martin
  8. Hi Simon it can be a little confusing as the previous and current managers name is/was Andy however the new Andy has been there about 10 months. If you keep your boat on stack and store in any yard you will have the same issues re early start or late return as none of them work 24 hour. Rockley do during the busy months now stay on later so that boats for the most part do not have to raft up on the pontoon, much better than it used to be. I came near to moving from Rockley last year due to the rafting up issues experienced so much happier with their current methods. In the winter months staff go home a little earlier but then it's only mad fishermen that go out out of hours at this time of year so still no problem. Rockley shut for part of the Christmas period but have now put my boat and others on the pontoon so they can be used over the holiday period and I am happy with this as it at least lets me use my boat when I want. If there is an issue I have been assured that if I call the yard the managers phone number will be available and he or his staff will respond. Not sure what other yards do in this situation Am I happy? as happy as I would be anywhere else and will be even happier if all things promised come to fruition. Martin
  9. Mark you are welcome to slum it onboard "Awol" if you like Martin
  10. Rockley is ok, the cheapest in the harbour but furthest from the harbour entrance so you do need to factor in a little extra fuel in your costings. That said the yard has a new manager and seems to be improving. Martin
