  2. Hi Graham That should be perfectly adequate for a 640 and should hold you in most depths likely to be encountered out of Poole Martin
  3. Happy birthday Duncan Martin
  4. Usually very different or should that be indifferent Martin
  5. Well "Awol" is supposed to be mechanically sound now so I will try and get out for sea trials on saturday. Also maybe a spot of spotty trying or flounder bashing on sunday Martin
  6. I had to take the pedestal of my old Warrior 195 once. It was screw fixed direct throught the glass and into the ply underneath. Warrior also used Sikaflex to stick the pedestal in place. The screws came out easily but the sikaflex stuck fast. Pulled and pulled with the result being I ripped off the gel coat trying to remove it. So I guess if the 165 is put together the same as the 195 glue and screw is the answer but a phone call to Warrior wouldn't be amiss. They are really approachable and helpfull people. Please mention our club if you do phone them Cheers martin
  7. Lost it is the answer Terry Martin
  8. Yep I am so no playing for me Martin
  9. "Awol" may just pop out with its still boarded up window but hopefully working machinery Martin
  10. hmm, you're brave!! With regard to weather, invariably it's a force higher in Alderney than anywhere else in the channel, and big tides only ever make it worse. Tackleshop Mark does have a dinghy, but it's a nightmare to row, and the paint will come off it and get all over your hull if your fendering's not brilliant, believe me, I know, LOL! He'd let you use though I reckon. lol Thanks Mark much appreciated, all loclal info gladly recieved Martin
  11. Good to hear its sorted Andy, see you on the water soon then Martin
  12. Good to hear your still around Kam Martin
  13. Tom I think it was a good 5 it certainly felt like it on Tiger Lilly Was that the year we had millpond weather thereafter? I would be happy going in a following/northerly 5 with the forecast giving easing. I would not want to go in much more than a top end 4 on the nose. As you say not comfortable Martin
  14. I would also look to go at the drop of a hat if conditions proved to good to miss but I also think there should be some sort of planning to allow a group of us to go together. Most definately the weather would play the largest part in considering a trip over. Talking of weather what would be the max you (all) would consider going over in? Martin
  15. Cheers Mark will keep that in mind Martin
  16. Good luck and well done Sam Martin
  17. You are certainly dertermined Alun Did you manage to put your friend off Martin
  18. One thing to consider is accommodation? Dean and I will sleep on Awol comfortably. If we take another crew member it would be very cosy to say the least so maybe not practical. What arrangements would others consider? Also in Alderney we would be reliant on the water taxi and that is ok except it normally stops at 10ish so early nights would be forced. What we could do with is a couple of dinghies to ferry ashore anyone got one? There must be other items that need thinking through, any ideas? Martin
  19. You sure
  20. Pete/Alun we will see what boats are available and try and squeeze you on Martin
  21. Weymouth trip 7th - 11th June 48 hour comp the following weekend Martin
  22. I might be able to get the web site working - but getting the weather to change is beyond my abilities I think ! Although, it has been said a long time ago that I had been dabbling in weather manipulation stuff in between receiving signals from outer space ( but that is a story for a rainy day ! ) Its lashing down out there
  23. Well we are coming into the quite time of year and all thoughts will be turning to our years plans. One place that always gets my mind thinking of better times is Alderney. I will try and get over there at least once this year and am starting to look at the diary. One thought was the weekend of our 48 hour comp but this is the weekend after the WSF Weymouth meet and I don't think I will be able to swing two full weekends away in tandem. Is any other boat owners up for a trip across the channel and if so what dates would suit you sir? When we have sorted out a date and a list of boats interested maybe we can then see if there are any spaces for crew or not as the case maybe. Martin
  24. Many happy returns Paul Martin
