  1. Phaeton and Awol are planning to go across to Alderney the week end of the flatfish comp. The plan is to travel over Friday (21st), fish Sunday for pleasure and sound out marks, then fish the comp Sunday prior to returning to Poole PM If weather scuppers that then we may go to the banks to the west on Saturday and stay in Weymouth harbour for the night then fish the comp Sunday out of Weymouth returning Poole pm Of course just to spice things up a bit there will be the usual pub tucker trials in the evening Are there any other club boats interested in tagging along? if so log your interest here Martin

  3. Terry First year we have had cards for a number of years. Martin
  4. The only fish of note on Awol today was a blonde ray for Dean of 16lb 2oz 64.5% Dean also had a smal john Dory of 4 or 5oz, very tropical. I had a small ray and bream Not a beano of a day on the fish front but certainly a cracker weather wise Martin
  5. Well done to all that fished this one and especially well done to the Burnham boys for trecking up here and fishing a full day. The only fish of note on Awol was a blonde ray for Dean of 16lb 2oz 64.5% I think but far to pretty to kill for

  15. Ian Hi and welcome to the Poole Bay Small Boat Angling Club website, hope you enjoy our clubs home on the net. The fastliner is an excellent sea boat. The hull form is a semi displacement which will achieve around 22knots flat out and cruise at about 15/17knots. They are stable boats but do give a rather hard ride. There layout is typical of a lot of small angling boats, plain with cuddy and no creature comforts. They make an ideal safe anglng platform Hope that helps and others will no doubt add there views Martin
  16. Daz Dejon 14 is one of the most unstable little boats ever produced DONT buy one Microplus are a 16' boat with a cabin and are decent little boats. I think Shetland now make them and call them the Cadet As Mike said have a good look around and try to ge out with others who have similar boats to what you are looking at. Take your time it will happen Martin
  17. Yep you definately got it but try not to insert very large pictures like the above as it makes reading post difficult having to pan across all time. If you open the picture then take its url before enlarging it should come out middle sized...perfect for reading and telling the story Martin
  18. Charlie use the IMG button and paste the file address into there. You should then have the picture in your post as I have done in yours and below Martin
  19. Adam I am so pleased for you, lets hope you get ootb up and running again very soon And hats off to Honda for doing the honourable thing Martin
  20. Dean has to work this coming Saturday so he can't fish Saturday. Its my (and ere indoors) wedding anniversary this Sunday and she doesn
  21. Thanks for all your input lads Club response will be option 3 Martin
  22. Hi Ron Good to hear your beginning to feel your feet in these part. Ref Rockely. I have kept an 8.2 metre walkround sports fisher with a large inboard diesel there since end of December and as yet have not been stuck due to lack of water (came close once though). We have gone out on some quite low tides so you should not have to many problems with yours, just remember that on the way out the end of rockley channel is the shallowist. When you get into the main part of the harbour that is reffered to as the harbour untill you pass the ferry. Pass the chain ferry and your into Poole Bay. I guess the North cliffs you refer to are Old Harry and Ballard Down which lead into Swanage Bay. When you are next down put a post up here, I would be only ro pleased to take you out and show you the area. Shame about those barstewards pinching the kite gear but the evil element are everywhere Martin
  23. Strip down, remove drag washers, if any are fibre and contaminated with oil order replacements, clean off metal washers. Re-assemble with the new fibre washers and away you go. Or send away and have a proffessional service but specify that you want new drag fibre washers. Cost should be about a tenner plus parts plus postage. Martin
  24. Well Mike you did better than Dean and I We went over to the island in the hope of a bass or two. Got our mackerel in double quick time and then fished hard for the Bass with no luck at all. Decided to hunt out some wrecks 10 miles south of the needles. Found some large chunks of metal but all appeared devoid of life. Have confirmed them as possibles for conger trips in the near future though. Score on the board Dean 0 Me 0 Martin
  25. Trevor they are good boats I considered one prior to purchasing Maverick. I would think the engine on hte one in question is at the low end of power for that boat, they are quite substantial boats. Martin
