  2. Bob (Indespension) F Nice new name it has a kind of ring to it, like no till ringing Was that a firm offer Bob? if so what kind/form of discount did they offer. Most local fishing/boating related businesses offer club members a discount without strings can we expect an extra special deal in return for a link? We have membership cards being printed as we speak so identification of members will not be a problem Martin

  7. Happy birthday you old wrinkly Hope you had a goodun Martin
  8. Bob What I did when I ran on a gps alone was to plot all the bouys leading into and up the harbour as waypoints, these will then show up on your screen and you can delete your plot lines without worrying. I also stored a route home from the fairway buoy which you could also use. Martin
  9. Pete came out on my boat once, armed with his secret numbers, we loaded them into my plotter and spent what seemed like an age looking and found.....nothing even tried his hand held and......nothing. A couple of weeks later came out and there he was sat on his secret mark about 4/5 hundred metres further south. Needless to say it aint secret any more Martin
  10. Firstly if you were fishing in Poole Harbour for Bass you may well have been breaking a byelaw which is policed by southern sea fisheries. You can find out which areas are included within the nursery area by reading this thread http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1617&hl= The With/Bonwitco boats are sound little dingies (I used to have the 10') and you should be ok to fish all the areas you mention in a force 3 or less. You wouldnt want to go more than a mile or two off shore though. Bob's suggestion re xchurch harbour is an excellent idea but make sure you have your rod licence sorted. Martin
  11. Cheers Paul Martin
  12. Neil Have a word with your clubs Chairman Chris. He is also Chairman of the Poole and District Sea angling Association. If the association applies this might stand more of a chance as they represent around 20 local clubs. I take it you have Chris's contact details if not pm me and I'll send them over Martin
  13. Superb after sales service there Adam I have sent them an email from the club congratulating them Martin

I guess the tube system would only be any good for attracting mackerel and gars, perhaps shark if out far enough Martin
  20. Terry I dont know of any suppliers in xchurch other than the shops. Why not try Alec the bait guy on our home page, he is a sponsor of the site/club and supplies some cracking worms. Although he is based between Poole/broadstone its well worth the effort/travelling. One thing to bear in mind is that you must pre book your bait Martin

  25. Tactics for fishing plaice on the shambles are drift fishing with the same kind of gear you would fish with from Poole, perhaps slightly heavier as you will need a little more lead there to combat the larger tides. 12lb class rod or slightly less is ideal, matched that with a 6000 sized multiplier perfek. Beads, rauto or delta type spoons, booby beads all wok on there day. You will also need a nice big bait which can consist of rag, lug, squid and crab in cocktails of your choosing. If your trying for a Turbot or Brill then a nice long slither of mackerel or a fillet of Launce should be on the menu. As you say get your drift speed right then you have to fish your tackle on the bottom but not with so much weight that it stops and you end up dragging it along. Your gear should ideally be going out the rear of the boat and you should feel it bumping bottom. Dont forget to have a go for launce on the slack water, there should be plenty of them about from now onwards and they make excellent bait. Thats basically the way we fish but Im sure others will ad there fav method Martin
