  1. Hi Trevor and welcome to our clubs forum. Please take part and enjoy, you will soon get used to us Martin
  2. With the club growing so quickly it has become difficult to know who is a forum member and who is a club member so I have created a new group called Club Member. You can now tell at a glance who is a club member, just look to the left of the post below their title..easy. I hope it all works properly, let me know if you have any problems or if I have forgot to move you into the new group Cheers Martin
  3. I really pea some people off when I tell them I keep virtually nothing. Most of what is caught on Maverick goes back in the briney. Dont get me wrong I do keep the odd bass, plaice, cod (chance would be a fine thing) and perhaps one or two whiting for my own table, I dont however fish for others, I cherish my sport to much. I have no problem with anglers keeping fish for the table but do object to peeps taking fish for the sake of taking. I think for the most part anglers have given up on the old I'm alright Jack syndrome and taking anything and everything. Most think more of their fishing and childrens fishing future than filling the freezer. If only all stakeholders thought like that their would be an abundance of fish for everyone to enjoy. Martin
  4. Hi Simon Glad you registered ok and welcome to the home of pbsbac the BEST small boat angling club on the south coast. I look forward to meeting you and your uncle soon Enjoy the site! Martin
  5. Hi Peter and welcome to pbsbac Several of our members launch from Christchurch so I am sure if the info you need is not in the link Adam has provided you only need to ask. By the way why not register in the forum, it costs you nothing and is full of useful contacts and info Martin
  6. Adam Maverick is fitted with manual hydraulic trim tabs (didnt know they did auotmatic) and are brilliant for trimming out a boat, it saves all the hassle of moving kit around the boat. They would definately work on BW They are I believe very easy to fit although I haven't personally fitted any. Come out on Maverick sometime and have a play. After that you'll want some Martin
  7. Ah Gordon, See you have been nobled by the lads I was out today as well, had Dean and Bob H onboard. I blanked as did Dean but Bob had two floundersd in the boat, they were only small so they went straight back. I did play a good sized bass to the boat where it promptly threw the hook it looked to be a fish of around 5lb excellent size for the harbour. Martin
  8. Hi all read what Suzuki have to say about us on their website http://www.suzuki-marine.co.uk/news_detail.php?id=0063 Martin
  9. Sam First thing to do is phone the southern sea fisheries office to see if 1. they do take work experience and 2. if not why not and would they be prepared to take someone if they were vetted. Get the number off your dad, he should have it somewhere. If there not registered to take w/e I'm sure the school could contact the agency that vet employers and get them on the list. All the employer has to do is set aside half hour to sort the paperwork and interview. Its a basic interview on health and safety procedures and inspect there employers insurance cover note and thats basically it. Give it a try, nothing ventured nothing gained! Martin
  10. Duncan It doesn't matter to much if the bracket is not upright as engines usually have a built in adjustment bar that can be moved to compensate the angle Martin
  11. Hi Hoggy Looks like you are amongst friends...welcome Martin
  12. Duncan You been on the sauce, I had to get one of my lads decode your last post for me
  13. There is a new sub heading under club talk called club members only. This is a protected area and will require a password to gain access. If you would like the password please email or pm me. The password will only be given to club members Martin
  14. Paul You really oughta do something with your hair mate Martin
  15. Paul Your as sad as me checking out the site stats Why is it that google appears to be the only spider crawling over our site, never seem to see others? End of March and plaice fishing is on its way...bring on those Weymouth trailaways Martin
  16. Paul I cant comment on the lighter Pen rods as I have never used them. I do however have is a 30lb class pen and the fittings and finish are v good so would assume there other rods would be finished in similar fashion. The rods I use for every day fishing are a 12lb class ABU Conolon Pro, it is a cracking rod superbly finished but my favourite rod is a Team Diawa TDX 12lb class. It has a little more back bone when put under pressure than the conolon but will still give a lot of fun on the small stuff, its such a pleasure to use but is at in the upper end of the market. Martin
  17. Alun Under Dungeness you have not posted a reply, are you saying there is no spot on your envelope, if so this is correct. The thread envelope will not be marked on your machine until you have posted a reply. I think the idea of spots is to mark threads you have contributed to assist in keeping track of where you have posted. Update: I hadn't posted in that thread and had no dot, posted and a dot appeared, deleted post and spot dissapeared. Problem solved....I think Martin
  18. I think you will find if you have contributed to a thread that the dot will appear. I have had a quick look through the forum and it seems to be like this for me Martin
