  1. Alan I used to use Baiter slip regularly when I had a Hardy 17. On average we could launch and retrieve an hour either side of low water, perhaps and hour and a half on larger tides. As your boat is a similar weight to the hardy I would say the same rule would apply. If its not correct you will not have to wait long as Mike has stated the wet stuff comes in pretty quickly. I now have a larger boat and although I can launch and retrieve it at baiter I find Cobbs a much easier slip to use. On this slip as Mike has said I don

  5. Those of you that were at the meeting last week will have heard of the egm of the NFSA that has been called. This has been brought about because of the restrictive nature of the rules of the NFSA and their unwillingness to recognise the need for change from within. Six sea angling clubs from the Bournemouth and Poole areas have called this Extraordinary General Meeting of the NFSA, to be held at their Head Office at Buckfastleigh on Saturday 29th January 2005 to determine the way forward. If you care about our sport, please read the attached letter and pledge your support either in person or via a proxy vote. If you are not a member, but would like to become one, and recognise the need for modernisation, join the NFSA now so that you will then be eligible to vote on this important issue.

  7. James Took Maverick out of Poole on Saturday with Dave (animal) and Alan (Domino) as crew. Weather not to bad blowing a good 4 but the sea's behaving themselves. Went out to a mark outside of the slates where on the last of the flood had Conger to 20lb (Dave), cuckoo wrasse, pout, dragonet (I think) poor cod and dogs then the tide stopped and so did the fish. Waited for the ebb it eventually started (very weak) and......nothing. Moved into the gully, very slow with dogs, pout and a small spotted ray. I think the tides this weekend were to small, no movement and no fish! Didn
