Went to the 50's area with Yan and Frank Morris. Arrived around 10 am. And left about 2 pm. Four rays including a 9 lb Small Eyed. Good number of Whiting with the majority of fish between 1.25 lbs and 1.75 lbs. Three over 2 lbs and a single clunker at 3.5 lbs. Other bits and bobs included Dogs and Congers Saw quite a few boats including Bobblin who joined us for a short while. A successful short session. It was nice to be able to see clearly through one eye again. Looking forward to the next one being done. Will try and put up a few photos that Yan took.

Autumn/Winter Fishing Competitions
Leicester Fisheagle replied to jerry.shutter's topic in Competition Talk
Fisheagle cannot make the 28 th. for the revised Cod/ Whiting Comp. I have been waiting a while now for some laser eye treatment, hence the lack of fishing this year. It scheduled in Bournmouth on Sunday the 28 th. November. Hopefully, I will be able to read the charts on the plotter better. Unfortunately, the fish may look bigger but will still weigh the same. -
Have seen the quality of the work done so far. It is first class.

Autumn/Winter Fishing Competitions
Leicester Fisheagle replied to jerry.shutter's topic in Competition Talk
Thanks Jerry, I would not have made it as Ann is positive for Covid on today's PCR Test Results. Although I am still negative. She really isn't well and it is her birthday on Sunday. Mike Hall could well be taking Fisheagle out with a couple of other Club Members. There have been several Cod to almost double figures caught in the Harbour this week. -

Ann has just tested positive on a lateral flow test, I seem to be clear. We have just done the more accurate PCR Test, should get the results tomorrow. -

Fisheagle hopes to be out, subject to weather. -
Plenty of Tope to around 35lbs with a PB to Mike. Several larger fish lost as we weren't really expecting or geared up for them. A few of the initial runs being several hundred yards and then snap offs or bite offs, initally we suspected a small shark till we got one to the boat. A good selection of Rays across two of the three marks fished with six over 14lbs the largest being a Blonde of17 lbs. The usual Congers, dogs etc. plus one solitary Whiting on out third mark near Tom on Illusion. A really calm day with plenty of Winter sunshine. So much for the Winter Species. Mike may put up a few pictures.

Well done Dave. Nothing significant caught on Fisheagle other than each other's live baits. Allan.

Change of plan for Fisheagle. Fishing with Mike Hall and Frank Morris on Sunday. Hoping to do some general fishing but will probably also try for a Bass. Jan Tryska has asked me to post that he will also will also be entering the Comp. on Holy Mackerel with a non member on Sunday.

Bought some Glow Fuses from Maplins just before they closed down and fitted them to Fisheagle some years ago. The first one on the wiper circuit has just gone. Took seconds to replace. Providing there is power to them, they glow very brightly if they fuse and can be instantly identified. Highly recommended from LKS Connections on page 11 of their catalogue. Free delivery. For £5 .50 pence, you get a mixed pack of two of 3,4,5,7.5,10,15,20,30 amps. That's 16 fuses. Other options are available on their website. Allan.

Unfortunately cannot make this one. Good luck to all fishing.

Fisheagle will be out and about. As always on Ch 6 and 16. Allan.

Many thanks for the reminder.

A Stunning Day on Fisheagle.

Passed through the Bridges at 7.30 am. and stopped in a couple of places for Mackeral. Our first mark only produced small Bass and was very weedy. The second mark was a bit hit and miss but gave us some nice chunky specimens and some Scad. We then tried a couple of spots about 6 miles south of Swanage about an hour before low. During the day we spoke to several Club Boats and heard Marichelle, Jojo, Alfresco and Hydra. The next hour gave us a steady stream of fish. There were plenty of Tope up to 25lbs. Conger to 20lbs, a good selection of Rays up tp14 lbs. A couple of specimen Red Gurnards just under the 1.5 lbs mark, Pout, more Mackeral and Scad and the inevitable doggies and bream. Late afternoon, we moved inshore for a few Plaice. We managed around 20 plus with three keepers on the 2 lbs mark. While we were Plaicing we were listening on Ch 16 to all the Maydays and Pan Pans which seemed never ending. One call was from a small 15 foot fishing with four on board. They were out of Cobbs. Initially, they put out a Mayday, but they had managed to tie onto a red can before the Ferry. The owner explained to the Coast Guard that he was new to boating and had only just got the boat and was using it for the first time. There were four on board with life jackets. The Coast Guard was very sympathetic and professional and explained the difference between a Mayday and a Pan Pan and put out a request for any vessel able to assist with a tow to Cobbs. We thought nothing more about the Pan Pan Relay and proceeded to the Secret Ray Mark. The Rays were very co-operative, especially the Undulates, and Mike managed a Spotted for his Species Hunt. Around 20 hours, we upped anchor and headed in. This was a good couple of hours after the original Mayday/Pan Pan. We came past the Chain Ferry and saw the broken down vessel still attached to the red can. The tide was now ebbing around 5 knots and they were beam on to passing boat traffic and really being bashed about in rough conditions. There was about just over an hours light left by now. We decided to respond to the Coast Guards Pan Pan Relay and were able to lash the vessel alongside with Mike and Jan's help. I was a bit concerned about the height difference of the two boats and had I not been happy at this point, we would have asked for a Lifeboat. Fisheagle was able to protect the vessel from several idiot Gin Palaces speeding through the Harbour. Most vessels slowed down when they saw the situation and a good blast on the horn caught the attention of others. Once we got out of the rough water and near the Island, things improved and we were able to proceed at 4 knots. We did not take any photos of the incident as we did not want to embarrass anyone. The owner could well become a Club Member in the future and will go out with a buddy boat next time. A big thank you to the female Bridge Officer on Condor Liberation who had been monitoring my conversations with the Coast Guard and Harbour Control and who, when I asked her, ensured that the Condor passed with minimum wash. Also, Bridge Conrol for ensuring that our passage through both Bridges was traffic free and unimpeded. Thanks also to Mike and Jan for a nice clean boat and a great day. Finally, a reminder to self after such a stunning day, that there is not much sun cream left on board. Now the fun starts, trying to upload a few fishing pictures.
