  1. Boo! (
  2. Well I had my go at the 48hr yesterday evening. The bass were hard to find and we only had one run. I bet I would have done better if I hadn't entered this comp! Tight lines and stay safe to all this weekend. 9oz mackerel - wahoo, I'm winning!!!! Rob
  3. And no, not who can give the best specimen after the alcohol is consumed!!!

  5. Thanks Martin, I guess we usually list boats and crew, where as this comp it is just a list of 'entrants'. Rob
  6. Well, yes, except for those with alzheimer's!

  8. Well, yes, except for those with alzheimer's!
  9. Question Mr Competition, are we paying for ourselves to enter rather than the boat? E.g. If someone entered but fished on 2 boats over the weekend, it doesn't matter if their name was down next to only one of the boats? Thanks Rob
  10. Fillet Up - genius!!! Constantly, the way you drive it!
  11. Bloody Hell - don't listen to me, go with the crowd, no one else listens! Seriously, congratulations, that is a great boating package. More than capable for inshore fishing and slightly offshore. Like any boating, it is all about matching the conditions and tides and technique\method and forecast and crew to the boat at the time. Last Friday I headed out with CharlieA as crew. Conditions - I knew it wasn't going to be great sea conditions initially as it was blowing some what (and wind against tide)! Tides - I knew it was changing just after 20:30 and that it woudl flatten off as it became more wind with tide Technique\method - I never would have anchoured in that! So drift fishing allows you to fishing more unconfortable conditions. Forecast - looked stable - picking up a little nearer 23:00 (and it really did, but we were just on the trailer by that time) Crew - confident \ experienced crew (with sea-legs) who know the boat and what to do \ not to do makes it so much easier (yes mild compliment to Charlie A). We were the only boat fishing and that did surprise me but we had one good bass. Thanks, Rob
  12. Nice one Neal - why ruin all our weekends!!! Rob
  13. Welcome to the forum, I used to have the EuroSport Dory which I loved. However I would suggest this is over priced! £1300 trailer new + £3500 motor new + £500 boat = £5200 - used factor, I would say your best part of £1000 out. You can get a lot more boat for £5k. Rob
  14. Yes Kev.
  15. Moderation alert!!! (I split this discussion away from Tigerfish's species comp as that is for the skipper to record his catch) Rob
  16. Well that was it, 1 bass of 51/4lb. Headed in at 22:15, hitched on the car for 23:00 getaway, home by 23:15. Job done! Rob
  17. Bass of 5.5lb ish !
  18. Charlie A and I have popped out for a session bassing. But it took an hour to find 6 maccy!! But we are giving it a go as you read!!! The bass are yet to show, but maybe it is because the wind is holding us against the tide. Rob

    4 bladed prop

Been giving a 4 bladed prop a try, but I can't say I am impressed and not sure what all the fuss is about. Thanks for wasting my time and money guys!!!!!!!
  20. Nice! 520 I assume. Enjoy, Rob

  24. Like the cormorants, if there were plenty of well managed fish populations in the sea.........
  25. Welcome. Maybe try a few members boats before you buy. Especially If you are having to trail as trailing something a bit bigger could be much more sea worthy and flexible. I have a 4.85m Terhi and can launch / use single handed and head over to the Isle of Wight. Check out the Terhi 6020C which is only 200kgs and runs great with a 20 / 25hp motor. Stable and nice high freeboard (I have the BigFun 300kgs which takes up to 60hp). Rob
