    My afternoon

Forgot to mention, both days there were hundreds of birds on this mark. Gulls, ganets, gulliemots, skuas etc, even had guillemot follow my redgill to the boat. They seemed to be grabbing sprats that we're chased up by mackerel. I even had a grey seal watch me clean down the boat from 5m away. Not sure if the snorting was friendly or aggressive!!!

    My afternoon

Managed to get a few hours out on hols yesterday and this afternoon. Yesterday was windy and lumpy, but I managed plenty of maccy and a few bass to lures (all returned). Today I had some more time off for good behaviour, so grabbed 3 hrs. Had plenty of maccy again, I hooked 2 or 3 monster maccy on feathers and thought I had a lunker bass or two, I was using a heavy rod and had the drag up full! I felt some drop off and ended up with one, I haven't weighed it yet but I guess it is over a pound. Had some more bass two, when I got to the mark I shared it with 2 pro bass boats, I think I bled my own and on e they left the fishing got better. They obviously thought better of fishing yesterday, when I had found the 'hot spot' on the bank for myself. I guess they were using live sand eels, the sidewinders did me proud!!!! This is the maccy, next to a good sized eater normal maccy! Sunset on the way back in to harbour!!! R

    Wow, floods!

Crikey, just seen the news and the flooding around the UK is crazy!!!! http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/09/26...l?utm_hp_ref=uk I hope that living near the coast means that more often than it, the rain/ flood water escapes quickly!!! R

    Open 2012

PBSBAC Open is postponed for 4 weeks until the 21st October - the wind on Sunday is too unpredictable and we can't risk the F7 that was forecast yesterday!
  9. Twas a monster and nearly took my arm off! As you know Al, it's not all about size!
  10. Be using your third hand for photography hey! Very impressive!!
  11. As long as your lead doesn't hit gel coat or Engine covers because then it is a swim home!!!! Just ensure that if you don't have experience fishing from boats with a few crew that you pay attention and above all ask for advice \ help. You do not want to tangle everyone's lines on the first drop! Braid will be used by most if not all members as someone using mono will be fishing very differently with amount of weight required and direction that the tide will take the end gear on lowering! Remember ask, there are no silly, well, there are silly questions and you will be reminded of them, but is a good old fun and banter way! Rob

    Open 2012

We will make a call this evening. Safety is our upmost priority! F5 winds gusting to F7 would even make the harbour unfishable! Rob As can be seen from the poster, the comp is postponed for 4weeks. Paul

If restricted to harbour James you will need to bring your boat to poole harbour. I will talk to Neal and Dave S over the next few days to formulate a plan. Rob
  19. The problem here is the market for stolen goods. If the scrap dealers didnt buy all this "i found it", "it was in my garden when i moved in" metal - inc road signs etc. There would be no local market - then it would probably get shipped to the continent and sold there! Might be just the excuse to let some air out the Wife's tyres!
  20. There are a few of these posts! http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=6356&hl= I now have an external drain at the base of mine, which works well and clears the stale / bloody water quickly. Also it can be used to drain the tank quickly before removal! Rob
  21. Do they make good bait?
  22. Welcome Gordon, There are loads of places to fish, however, some fish better at certain times, tides, weather etc.....i think everyone is still learning. Let us have more info re your boat, size ect. Dave Samuel will be along at some point to advise you about having a free RNLI Sea Safety Check, which you will gain great advice from - it is more of a discussion than an assessment and I found mine very useful! Try and fish our Open on the 23rd and then come to the October meeting in Parkstone on the First Thursday of the month! Rob
  23. Mostly people contacting me for the Lead moulds and accomodation in alderney i'm afraid! Rob
