  1. Read this: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=9269 Adam had a slowing issue with JV - as he said 3500rpm usualy gave 25knts - here it was giving only 10knts - all down to the green stuff! Rob
  2. Sorry if i missed this, but how do you know? Or is this from previous performance of your boat? If you are going by manufacturer quoted figures - i would assume that they don't always tell the 100% truth, maybe they had \ you had 2-3knts of tide when took that reading. If it is a manufactures claim, do you have exactly the same prop? Is it in perfect condition and prefectly balanced? Just because it says 19x17 ect doesnt mean it hasn't been tuned and changed by a prop repair company. If the boat wasn't new to you, the previous owner may have wanted a quicker-to-plane time etc etc, or just tweaked the prop on the Training Bank and had to have it made smaller to be balanced. Sort out the coolant issue - as that is a worry. I had a coolant issue with a past car, it would loose water, and i thought the worst as it never leaked any on the drive! Answer was: when up to temp \ full coolant pressure, the seal on the water pump would weep - at rest or cold, no leak! Rob
  3. Well done Steve, great write up too! Rob

  8. All, This is a silly thing that I am doing versus my US colleagues - we have stange US rules but it is the same thing - growing facial hair for November that passes under the nose but does not join at the sideburns or under the chin! He is my page, all donations go to Prostate cancer awareness (this is by no means an offer for me to check yours or anybody else's!!!!) Cheers, Rob If you
  9. Have you emptied the boat of all the weight so that she is really empty? Then tried for WOT on your own? I expect that is when the 22knts was proven by the manufacturer. Rob
  10. *Moved! Maybe Derek can buy some new glasses if he sells her!

    Rods

TRQ is a nice rod - the 20lb is quite heavy (we have had the 20lb "normal" and "braid" versions for prizes at the Open, donated by Mark at Alderney Angling). Dan Chapman has the 12lb braid which he uses for wrecking and it looks ace! The best one in my opinion is the "braid" version as it is a little thinner and softer action. Rob

    Boat Security

Yes, but fit a second battery, fit the diode, and fit the voltage/surge protector. Need to be in water tight box as this is NOT marine grade or price!! The 2nd little battery really needs a over charge protection unit, and or solar panel to charge if not. Rob

    Boat Security

I have mine in a box with all sorts of gizmos! It has a small LeadAcid battery incase connection to main battery disconnected. A large diode to stop the engine start pulling on this battery. A surge protector as I believe the lighting coil on my OUtboard once spiked (as they do) and popped something on the circuit board (easy replacment luckily!) - http://www.sourcingmap.com/12v-power-suppl...or-p-98360.html You communicate to the via a phone call and \ or text message. You can set it to alert you by sms if the unit moves 200yds from where you left it - handy, but remember to switch that feature off before you take the boat out, or you end up getting alerted you are out and about (this is switched off and on by txt message command). You can even wire in to the engine and send a command to open a relay to stop a fuel pump of similar and remotely disable the engine - i think that is a bit much of a risk to go wrong on a boat! When you txt it - it advises you of location coordinates, speed, direction ect and you get a link to a Google map showing the position! You can also ask it about battery voltage, gps and cellular signal strength. Ask me tonight and I'll show you the communications on my phone. As it uses any pay as you go sim, it costs up to 10p per text - depending on tariff and you must use it every 180 days or you can loose any credit on the account and \or sim is disabled. Ensure you get the right PAYG package - not a top up monthly one! Rob
