  5. No mate - I'll be getting you some driving glasses!!!!!
  6. Talking a load of rollox on sunday, the discussion turned to binoculars (I think when the Helo was chasing the LifeBoat and lowereing a crew member). Anyway, I recommended the Plastimo "Autofocus" ones that I have as excellent. The Binocular purists don't like them but for 99.9% of the population they are excellent. Not having to try ad turn a focus wheel when rocking at sea is a god send and make the use of them much less inducing! Anyway, I saw that they are on offer with our friends Force4 down from

    Anchoring

Remember chain can vary in weight massively! 6mm 0.8kg per meter 8mm 1.35kg per meter 10mm 2.1kg per meter I use 8mm which with my 5kg Bruce and 16ft boat is perfect, so I would assume the bigger boats are using 10mm at least. You also need more weight in chain than the anchor, or it coild fall out of the Alderney ring. So stepping up anchors, bets to step up weight of chain! This is just general info Andrew for others and you no doubt know this. Rob
  9. New better quality hitch lock then Derek! Feel for you, let me know if I can help as I am around the corner. Rob

    Anchoring

Assuming people are using an Alderney ring technique. Can be partially demo'd at a club meet if needed! Rob
  11. Modern engines do bugger all if in gear and you turn the key!! Re. the Otter thing, there was a boat next to us on the mooring on Sunday, I thought it had a similar name! It had a yam 70 2 stroke that wouldn't start and he had the plugs out etc etc!!! Think my brain was frozen!!! Have you tried some easy start in to the air intake?? If the wiring for the kill cord thinks it is missing due to a wiring fault it won't start. I leave my fuel for months without use in plastic yam tanks. With breather closed, never had an issue, use a double dose of Redex once a year. Rob
  12. She started in the end though didn't it? I thought 'kill cord' on Sunday when you were cranking!! (Assuming you are Otter's neighbour). How old is the fuel? Water in the filter? Water in fuel (sinks to bottom of tank and picked up first!). There is a guy mark who is mentioned here: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=10592 Worth a try. I think Alun J had his ob services by someone in x-church. Rob
  13. I saw a pick of an 11lb (gutted weight) plaice in SAN, was caught in a trawl, but hey, monster!!!! Location, Start Point near Dartmouth. Rob

    Nasty Smell

Torch the car - that ain't every going to go!!! FPO removal sounds even more expensive! I think you need some anti-bacterial cleaner and hot water (detol or similar), then go down the Fabreeze smell nice route! Unlucky Dave. Rob
