  1. Good effort, what a treat for them to only have 2 anglers onboard. R
  2. Well, they were thick on cornwall in sept and mid Oct. Bait touched bottom for 2 seconds and we were hooked up. Mind you, 10 - 1 small to keeper ratio. R
  3. Enjoy Pete! R

    Modern Technology

You are not wrong Jim, I did see the new “lock the door Alexa” advert and wondered why we need to power / put electronics in everything. More to break and hit landfill. R
  5. Enjoy! R
  6. Enjoy chaps!
  7. On another note, if you have Amazon Prime membership for free shipping and some TV services. Also included is free unlimited photo storage. So get the app and upload away, all stored off-site should the worst happen for free.
  8. Or get a NAS - Network attached storage. I have a Synology Nas, it plugs in to router and you be accessed from any machine on network / WiFi. Runs my surveillance camera software too. Has a app so you can see the files when out of the house also. Which, isn't used often, but great when required. You want to go wrong with Synology. Buy big so that you have have the disks mirrored. This means you have 2 copies of your data on it, meaning if one drive inside goes pop, you still have a copy, slot in a new one and it rebuilds it automatically. R
  9. We have stayed in the harbour rentals and used the pontoons, camped and just used the slip, stayed St Mawes and launched at St Just and the only other that was was Mullion when wind was from the East. What is also nice is the north coast is only 30/60 mins away too. R
  10. I know what you mean, got myself new wheels this year as last ones looked a bit ropey. Shot blasted, zinced and then powercoated. Hope they last quite a bit longer!!! R
  11. You should have mentioned earlier, we saw him at the marina on Saturday. I think a few are using the new DJI action cameras. R
  12. No, as was 3 weeks in-between and we didn't see that good weather coming, towing her doesn't slow us down by much as she is so small and light. Mind you, I do loose a handful of mpg! R
  13. Cornish whiting
  14. I'd been promising Ad a trip down west on JoJo for the last 4 yrs, but weather and diaries have never come together. The fact we had the chance to have 2 trips in 3 weeks was too good to pass up!!!! I think he has started planning next year's already. R
  15. Enjoy Sir!
  16. Well, 3 weeks later and the weather and diary gods have come together and saw Ad and I heading back to Cornwall. No faff for fuel this time, so quicker journey as the queues caused jams! Well, he wanted a Blue in good weather, on his own rods and a nice size. So JoJo found him a 100lb er........... Would saw a few bust ups in the distance, some lasting half an hour. We assume tuna of the bluefin variety. One bust up at the end of our day we shot over too, but seemed to only be a huge pod / superpod of dolphins. Still great to see! Plenty of whiting too. Now to rest and have another meal over the campfire, heaven! R
  17. Where did you launch Jim? Cobbs? Well done for making the most of the great weather. R
  18. Headed out in drizzle and a bit of slop this morning on JV with Adam at the helm. Headed south east and tried our usual banker banks. It was slow! Moved to another known mark and found them! But, they were on a very specific part of the bank, 20yds south or north and nothing. After getting out fill of quota, we had a cracking lunch from Adam, stew and dumplings with a side of AJ's homemade bread. Delicious! We then decided to do some exploring as we were out that way and had no need to catch more. But we did! We tried some likely looking spots, nothing and then found one that worked. Giving us more options when we are over that way next time. Nice to have the time to spend testing new water. We headed back in sunshine and and flat glorious sea, I was close to swapping to shorts. We have the mackerel a go for an hour, nothing after drowning feather around Peveril, Ballard and Swash. I think they are localised and if you did em, you find em. Ah well, always next year! Cheers, Rob

    Radar safety

Maybe it died in shock of being used Jim! [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
  20. I'm waiting on the sailfish to arrive!!!
  21. Yes, a few macs, but we had loads of scad and whiting. R
  22. Mist was ok , 10knts in and 20 once out the harbour. No tuna, some dolphins and some gannets diving, but nothing on and sort of scale to indicate tuna. R
  23. No, it if for creating movement across tide when there is no wind for chum slick, also useful to space baits / floats outs once rebaited
  24. It's not mounted on the bow to get home!!! R
  25. Not much good for what?
