    RIP Jim Rob
  2. Agree with the comments, Dave was a very talented angler and was happy to share knowledge. RIP
  3. i use the palomar knot, when the eye of the hook will allow doubled up line to pass through. Simple and easy to tie in rough seas. R
  4. "South Dorset" better that North I guess! I like the idea of green peace dripping concrete blocks to disrupt trawling. BBC News - Bottom trawling ban for key UK fishing sites https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-55894608
  5. Enjoy Martin!

  7. Enjoy!
  8. Turn your Ais off then and she will never know. As always , you need to pick the weather/seas conditions to suit yourself, skills and craft. I've been 20+ miles from mooring in heavy white topped seas, wind against tide in the dark on the wrong side of Start Point lighthouse. But with sensible approach and knowing it.would.take a lot of throttle control we came back ok. Just do what you (and for Ian, his wife) are happy with. R
  9. Any room to have a unit or two hanging down? Move VHF up / out the way? Hopefully you'll not have time to sort as the weather will be so good you'll be out constantly. R
  10. Yeah, at the club Xmas meeting, free snacks, it's a win! R

Brian is sporting a black eye!
  12. One man's correct angle could be different to another's Terry. When we fitted JV2, Ad and I mocked it up in scrap wood first. Everything from seating, galley cabinets and dash. Size, height and angle of dash were important to get right. Anyone who can do a bit of glassing/mould making could make a "box" cut at an angle, correct size and shape etc is the challenge. Shame you didn't buy her earlier, could have had 9momths to tinker at home and learn from YouTube! Good luck. R
  13. Make from wood, see how it works for you, then that's your plug for moulding. Could iron out any issues should you find them once paid out for a final build. Chance to get the angles correct and easy to adjust. R
  14. Slow down Greg, making the rest of us look bad! R
  15. "you can exercise and need to stay 'local where possible'" - such ambiguous law, but it will hopefully become gain clarity soon! I was watching the news this am, seems to be the first time "local" has been used in legislation. Pete, don't book a trip in for mid Feb, that will.enaure the weather is ruined! Stay safe. R
  16. Enjoy!
  17. 150m, you'll need a bait boat! Well, when you get a crack off 150m will be in range. Good luck with the search Mike. Tight lines. R
  18. They only turned up to watch, the gull that nests on your boat among the tomatoes told them about it! Have a good Christmas Jim. R
  19. Jim, if there were more fish, I'm sure they'd be more of them, I'd like to see more for just that reason!

    Fishing wars?

British boats and companies will be bought by the French and Spanish. The only thing that we will control is the policy and let's hope we reduce the quota and take. R

    Happy Birthday Mike

    Enjoy Mike! Rob

    Fishing wars?

If Boris strikes a deal, he will fold and give away UK quota again!
