Mate, using it with no or faulty aerial can cook it, I found this out from the manual after trying just that! Mins you, my one survived! Maybe someone has a spare aerial you can try, or someone with another Garmin and you can plug your radio in to their boat, just to prove a point? I am sure I have been on another club boat with an annoying ringing Garmin unit, other than Star Turn. Rob

Dory = get wet whatever the conditions - dont do it!!!!! Unless you go big like PJ and his Boston. The Terhi 4020 is a good boat and within your buget - light weight, easy to launch and fuel efficient. Take a look, you wont be disapointed - they do come with a folding cuddy option too! Rob

    Gang of 3

3 will be alright as long as you resist fluff chucking!!!
  12. For the PBSBAC Open we bought the following in 22lb/10kg and 99lb/45kg. Excellent service from http://www.scalesexpress.com But these 55lb ones are a good all rounder. http://www.scalesexpress.com/salter-breckn...5-kg-55-lb.html We bought the smaller set to give greater accuracy of 1/4oz in for the smaller species that are weighed in. Just be wary of Ebay as often there is no warranty and \ or it is more hassle than it is worth as often the sellers are geared only for selling and not customer service! I have the Berkley pistol grip scales to 65lb and they are ace, even at weighing onboard. Mark at AA has them at

    Bayliner Trophy

Heavy boat, braked trailer that will need brakes serviced regularly. Is you current car big enogh to tow it? Mooring an option? So, antifouling required. 175 etec, you will notice a difference from your 20!!!! I would research the expected miles per gallon, or gallons per mile if you open her up!!!!! I guess you would easily spend 100 notes per day pottering around the bay! I have no idea re build quality etc, but I expect Tom will have an insight! Rob
  21. You forgot to mention that John Wilson fished from her! That should add and extra tenner!! You didn't mention it is

  24. My Boat tracker alerts once it moves somthing like 100 meters from set location. The only issue with these things is battery drain, a decent solar panel \ little wind turbine could quite happily keep it going. I can also call it and it replies with an sms of its coordinates that has a link and will bring up a map on most smart phones. But as I said, battery drain is the issue, esp if boat not used for long periods. All the best Paul, Rob
  25. Bl&&dy ruined my day too! Not really!!
