    Computer Scam

I find that either trying to take a pizza order or (even better and more confusing for caller) trying to order a pizza from them, works well. Especially when you get the "but i called you", "no you didnt" bit! But Jo tells me to hang up!!!
  5. Nice one Terry! JoJo is now just a blip on the horizon, an Exoset if you will!!!! In fact she was doing around 55knts over the River Hamble, on the M27!
  6. Well gents - I had dropped down to a 10 7/8" x 11 prop from 10 1/2" x 13" and have gained from 28 to 29 knts! My Revs are up to 5900 rpm were it was 5100 before and max power is @ 5500. The testing was done on Friday and I had 50 litres of baitwell water and a coolbox of fish! So a remarkable improvement, just need to run through my GHP fuel chart to see if it has changed. Thanks Dave and Duncan for the advice! p.s. didn't touch the cables as she could get max revs on the drive!! Rob

    Computer Scam

No you are the Virus!!! All, Please be aware of a call from a none native engliish speaker who may advise they are from Microsoft and they have detected that your pc has a virus...... They will try to connect to your PC and install a nasty bit of software to copy your credit card details when you purchase something online! The details that were passed from a friend, the call came from 00 253 820 308 - from Djibouti, Microsoft are big there I guess!!!!! The return number to call was a uk number +44 2032872600 - a Mr Peter Smith who sounded very unlikly to be called Smith! Microsoft will never call you! If you call them and log a fault and \ or problem then you might get a call from them - though that is more unlikey!!!!!! Beaware and don't give the bu99ers anything! Rob

    Holy Mola!

Tom, those things can shift!!!! Luckily Adam had the BIG conger net onboard so Charlie and I had one each. When we came very close the one of them I had the net in the water and had to quickly dunk it as the Sunfish went off deep like a rocket and hit the net with some force! On release Adam put it in and it shot under JV and appeard on the surface 25yds away on the other side in a few seconds! Adam has some video of it flapping, maybe he could post it? Rob
  9. I thought this was going to be one of you " from the hedgerow " recepies!!!

    Bait well

Do not stop the pump when you have maccy in there! They will die in minutes. If you are throwing the pump ove the gunnel, ensure you pop it in the bait well to keep the water moving when under way. I have a 60l barrel and a 500gph pump, with a thru hull pickup, it works well. Rob

  19. Windguru and windfinder will give swell predictions, height and timing between. Direction of swell is also important with regards to swell \ tide against wind. Thursday 0.6-0.7m @ 9 secs wave direction from West - i ecpect will be great on the flood esp as wind north \ NW \ W. http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=47897 http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/poole_branksome Channel buoy data live-ish: http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=62103
  20. Small boat - Merryfisher 625, I dont think so!!! Depends what you are comparing it with!!! We had Free Boys come over to Alderney in some snotty weather and I think she is a Merryfisher 600 Marlin. Like Charlie says, we cant tell you whether it will be ok - that is your call and your call alone being the skipper. However, on that forecast I would probably take my boat, don't be afraid to get to the harbour entrance and turn back! Also, it can be worse in the harbour than it is outside, though that is the exception rather than the rule! Use Easy tide for online prediction of tides and look at the chart, there is also a tide chart book for Poole available, I find that excellent and it shows the double IOW tides we get. hth Rob
  21. Well done chaps! How were the Kenzakis and Avets on a proper wrecking trip? I assume you used the 12/20s! Rob
  22. Nice one Toby!! Congrats on your success. A detailed writeup of all the loops you jumped through would be a great help to other members on your return!! Enjoy the weather and cold beer! Rob
  23. I would have liked to have seen the Snobee prize of rod & reel for the first one caught to be catch and release only!!! Maybe they need to be sent an email or two!?!?!?
  24. Genius! Nice one Pete!
  25. If you were blushing, you wouldn't have posted it yourself!!! Fool!!!!!! Why isn't the club mentioned, or Open!!!! You could have borrowed by score shirt!!! Next time try harder!!!! Well done though, just like our Alderney motto "Fish Ard"!
