Plus the wind was much stronger than forecast, which lead to no sleep on the return journey for me
  6. Prime example where course fishermen should support management of stocks of sea fish to improve numbers the salt water habitat. If we had an abundance of sandeel and small fish inshore, I am sure the cormorants that have plauged inshore fisheries would be out at sea feeding! Prevention better than cure?
  7. 20:1 sounds high, though I am not expert. So what oil was leaking? Can't be fuel / / Stoke oil! Rob
  8. Dan, Sorry to hear that you had problems. If your after advice. More info required: What year is the unit? Is it premix? I assume auto lube as it was leaking neat oil. Dave Samuel might be your man. Rob

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hope it was a good one Bill! Rob
  10. Enjoying a read of Sea Angling News after a nice warm day with the family. I read Steve Porters report for Poole and was delighted to read the following: "I've just returned from a trip there (Alderney) with True blue. Whilst there I was impressed to see the arrival of many small boats from The Poole Bay Small Boat Angling Club. All working together for mutual support and safety. Crossing the channel can seem a daunting challenge but in the company of other boats it becomes a task that is easily achieved. If you have a small boat and enjoy fishing then take a look at www.pbsbac.co.uk. This is a very well run club that welcomes new members." Brilliant! Thanks Steve, a true friend of OUR club! Rob

    Well done!!! Rob
  19. 16 and 16.5 are the club records too - you shoudl have weighed it, but well done for being more concerned with the fishes well being. You can always pop em in teh net and hold over the side for recovery then bring back onboard for weighing. Rob
  20. Maybe easier to list what didn't work Charlie!!

  23. This is the live weather data from Poole AHrbour Weather - looks liek WindGuru was spot on and follows my prognosis perfectly!! (why doesn't that happen when I am going out!) Sea state looking good at 1pm too!

    birthday wish

    Have a happy Thursday!
  25. Looks perfect to me. Nice ebb in the morning to take you towards Sanbanks (NW which will keep a flat sea) and then as the tide changes the wind backing to be behind you for the push back to the piers at 10! Though I have a boat, I woudl still think this was more than confortable in a Yak! Rob
