  1. Here are the results: .
  2. Looked good - nice to see them swim off. When I helped stock a "Big Fish" trout water the fish where thrown over the shoulder in from a 8 foot long landing net - they hit the water from 10 ft with a great splosh and it wakes them up - much better than a quiet release as the stress of being in a holding tank on and landy could kill em. Mind you it was hard work with 10lb + fish!
  3. Morning - lets make the most of this and get going - there are fish to be caught and prizes to be won. And food to be eaten and beer to be crunk afterwards! Enjoy and tight lines (not as tight as mine though please!!) All the best, Rob
  4. Welcome Steve - this Year we have a kayak section and a kayaker on the commitee. See this section : http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=165 There are plenty of "Nutters" in the club and I am sure they will glad for you to tag along, I expect one will paddle past this thread soon and say helllo. They might even convince you to join teh club proper!!!! Tight lines, Rob

  6. I have been down the beach at Alum Chine this afternoon - it was blowing 12knts from the north and the water looked like this: A bit of boat wash had the kids running for their body boards, not exactly breaking surf!: Fingers crossed Sundays NW is like this, so far surf predictions are from the West so I hope we get shelter from Portland and our Jurassic coast! Rob
  7. Good to hear from you Ben. Long time no Turbot!!!! OK, John on Rosie One is looking for crew has anyone tried him yet? Crew on offer: 1. Dave H-H 2. mike (02380) 3. steve m 4.BEN 5. Alan Verticalalan
  8. Most sites are suggesting 12-13 knots from NW - that'll do! The Met office have the sea state falling away to slight. Got to be in it to win it! So lets get in!!
  9. We have squid for each boat entering, collect at Cobbs or on the Quay at Poole. Also, all anglers weighing in qualifying fish (50% of specimen or more) will receive a pack of lures!
  10. Don't forget to invite you better halves to the Presentation - we all know there is nothing more they like than a good chin wag. Post weigh-in is a good social event with good enjoyable conversation (not all about the day!). Rob
  11. 4 Days to go!
  12. Dave the weather is looking better each day - 7-8-9 knots building to 13\14 in th afternoon from W \ NW - looks OK to me. Rob

    Leisure Battery

Dave - why don't you have a cheap solar panel from Maplins in the cuddy to trickle charge it in the daytime? I am not 100% but even leisure batteries dont like being totally discharged (something like 80% max). If you know anyone with a Halfords trade card, they are worth a look, the discount can be 40% on batteries! I got my last battery from Motorist Discount Centre near Winton\Wallisdown they have a few branches: http://www.mdc-auto.co.uk/ I wanted a specific Varta Traction battery as I use mine for cranking and electronics. MDC were cheaper than all online and anywhere else, they ordered it in specially for me. HTH Rob

I think Martin has run out of 10mm - as i got what coudl have been the last bit as it has a proper thimble and massive loop and shackle attached! Plus, I didn't see the big drums on his drive at the Club BBQ (I expect he had orders to have them removed!).
  23. Just having a flick through and there he is writing again Tom Bettle - man you get about!!!!
