  1. I owe a few of mine to the "Franklin Flyer" - cheers Adam - had some more turbo tonight - backed with raost veg and new spuds Mmmmmm!
  2. My engine doesn't have an air filter - does yours? Is it blocked? If it isn't lack of air it is prob fuel - so maybe one of the jets (main prob as idle jet sounds ok) - but to have all 3 or 4 go is a little weird! Have you tried new HT leads? You can measeur the output of the stator \ regulator and compare with the service manual. I thought that my stator \ regulator was gone and it ended up being the battery - have you tried a new battery - a bad battery \ earth \ connection could cause all sorts of weird issues. Rob

    Whale Tail

there was a set of Dole Fins (same thing) on JoJo when I bought her - they work great in a straight line but cornering at speed could get very dodgy - she ran better without them except the plane was now at a greater speed. So i fitted SmartTabs (teh black plastc ones) - brilliant - better than nothing and much better than the Fins - Jim - cancel the order and get ya money back!! Derek I have a pair if you want to try them - means drilling the Cavitation plate though. Rob
  4. Yer, come on Captain Hook write your report!!
  5. Our skipper went on about Rain-X like it was the best thing since......braid!!!! Must be a captain thing!!
  6. As they say it is the journey not the destination - well this is not true for Alderney, it is both!!!! I'm lucky to get 4 top days fishing in a couple of months, let alone 4 days in succession. The fishing was great along with the land based activities (drinking and eating) and the compay onboard was such a good laugh with a handfull of ribbing and tomfoolery! And JV what a boat - brilliant - great platform and beautifully fitted out, this you dont appreciate until you have spent some hours on her (even if quite a bit of that was asleep!!!). Well done Bob & Adam, you did a great job!!! Adam was a great skipper too, and even made the tea occasionally! I set a few PB's this last week - monster Tope and my first ever Turbo. Jo has advised Turbo is now her favourite table fish and I am allowed to go back, result!!! Cheers to all who went, we had great club spirit and it was a pleasure to be part of it. The banter on the radio was great and it was nice to really fish up close and personal to other club boats - if not too close sometimes!!!! Rob
  7. Oh and some of adas finest spears!!! Very good - I am thinking of Turbo Vindaloo for the rest!

  9. I have a 5 pounder sat whole in a grill pan at the mo. Though tried a little when filleting the others earlier!!! Butter sauce and some Jerseys with fried leek, cabbage and panchetta! Mmmmm! What shave we have tomorrow? Cod? Pollack? or More Turbo? Decisions decisions!
  10. Great time had. Shattered and in need of a rest. Great fun on JV aka The Turbo Slayer!!!! Rob "didn't see that bite either" Francis
  11. You need to surely determine if it is salt or fresh water. Rob
  12. I had that in mind so I have Monday off work too! Rob

    Side Scan Sonar

I agree, this is not a go at Gordon's post but purely an observation. Anyhow, thought diving was an adventure - shame to see it before you get there, may as well stay dry!!!

    Side Scan Sonar

It is a sad state of affairs when private fishing boats need such high-tech kit to find fish! If only the money spent on this was put to supporting the AT and getting that Golden Mile. Is this kit the "Pair tralwer" of the small boat world. We will find every last fish hiding place and catch-em? Won't be buying one until there are so many fish that the screen is full of them, give the fish a chance! Rob
  16. Well done and a great report. I am really excited about the possibility of catching some Tope towards the end of next week on the other side of the channel! Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob
  17. Bad earth \ corroded contact would be my guess and first please to look!
  18. Now your talking! I'll bring the burgers! - Sod it, I will assume we catch something worth BBQ'ing!!!
  19. I saw a 3lb bream caught on a huge jelly worm in Portland race whilst we were drifting for bass - that was a suprise!!!
  20. I caught a ride with Paul Frey on Imagine today (what a great boat). We headed out to beat the Friday rush at 07:30!! After a couple of changes we found Bream, halfa dozen keepers and a few smaller \ females bursting returned. We found the odd mackerel then hit a spot where they were plentiful. Nothing sounds more like summer than a mackerel flapping in a cool box! Whilst feathering we were treated to a pod of dolphins passing by on the surface, two headed straight for us and did a "Red Arrows" split and dive to just go under the boat on their flanks - amazing! (and much much bigger than I thought!). After breaming we were treated to an arial display from them in the Swash, no that's a day out! Thanks Paul - same again next time please!! Rob
  21. Tom will show you ho to pick it up if you want!!!
  22. Dave, Shame - but are you going bigger and better or smaller and faster again? Rob
