  1. I think I saw you guys out by the Bream car park - because of the swell I could not distinguish what you were until I got close - I thought it was 3 pot buoys in a line (that was your heads!!) then i could just make out your craft as I got closer. Not sure I like my chances of being seen when the WAFI and G&T gang are out - let alone yours! Do you fly an anchor ball? Good luck. Rob

Welcome Howard, Are you local? Do you have a boat etc. If you in to fishing this is the right place to be and you will get more if you join as a paid up club member. Cheers Rob
  5. Pete, I can vouch for Pete, I have fished with both Pete's. Cheers John
  6. I think the review might read - "took boat out with new 75opti and scared myself" Rob
  7. Bob - I hear cheese is a good bait for those white mice!!

Dave, Just done that connection but different models of Lowrance and Icom but it was yellow to yellow and what ever is left on the radio to screen on plotter. Rob
  10. Nice one Dave. Good luck. Rob p.s. thought I recognised that pontoon!!
  11. I think the idea to allow comps to be fished on Saturday or Sunday is a geat one. As long as the entrant notified their intended fishing day before stating fishing. Therefore if there is a bream comp on this weekend and your mate who is only available on Sat wants to go bassing then register the intention to bream on Sunday. Go bassing on sat and then on sunday fish the comp. Disclosure "Please bare in mind this is a dream situation which can often not happen as described" Rob
  12. Paul, I know what you mean, Saturday may round up a bigger crowd for trail-aways in the future. I am certainly not looking to Monday morning but then again it will hopefully be worth it!! I'm really looking forward to getting out there to some new waters. Rob
  13. Agreed Adam, Great turnout for pretty c**p weather! Imagine how many would fish if the wind had eased and more fish were about! You can tell we have just had a bad run of weather. Rob
  14. I am going taking Charlie Annear on JoJo. Rob
  15. Gordon, You might find that the tyres should be 50psi - main are. They are diffenent to car tyres being 6 or 8 ply and are designed to run at higher pressures. The side of the tyre should say what pressure for the required weight. Rob
  16. Dan, Check out the second page of the folder called Other in My Gallery: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/photoalbum/index.php?cat=10349 Rob
  17. Tomo, I new I had seen boat trailers for hire, crank the handle and came up with this: Ambrow Trailers Barrack Road charge

    Out Friday

I have a 5kg Bruce clone and use a round buoy from Force Four - http://www.force4.co.uk/ProductDetails/mcs...36-fda1e3afe42e and an Alderney ring from Stainless Steve - http://www.stainless-steve.co.uk/ Works a treat, but as you say go out with a few guys to get the hang of it. I wouldn't have had a go if I hadn't seen it in action before. You will be able to see numerous people doing it on Sunday as we shoot from mark to mark!! Rob
  19. Booking in Rob Francis and Charlie Annear on JoJo......see you out there . Rob
  20. They say the camera can add 10lbs - not in this case!!!!
  21. I took a friend who was visiting me from Holland out on JoJo this morning. We slipped in at 9:20 and made our way round the north channel and out the harbour. The wind was following us on our way to Durlston Head, we stopped on the way back to break open the flask in the shelter of Ballad. The wind then picked up a little and the sea was slightly rough but we pushed on at 15 kn so not too slow. It was patchy cloud with plenty of sun which was great, the rain came just after the boat was put away and we had a cup of tea in hand indoors - that never happens!!! It was good to run JoJo up as she hasn't been in the water since Feb, this was a pre Burnham check. I have a couple of jobs which are greasing the bolts on the number plate board and squirting more grease in to the bearing savers. Other than that all's well. See you tonight. Rob
  22. Size doesn't matter...honest!!
  23. Charlie, Be careful with how much power you put on the back of ST. As the original spec says it can take 90hp, remember that is old skool HP - measured at the fly wheel. Modern outboards are measured at the prop - so a new 90 is pushing out quite a bit more beef than an old skool one. I suspect 75 would be more than enough, plus I don't want to be cut-up by a Family 4!!!! Rob
  24. Charlie, Don't ask such silly questions. There is sooooo much debate in the forum to what is best it is untrue! Anyway the answer is Yamaha!!!! If you can go 4 stroke or Etec you will save
