  1. Sounds like you have a bad earth. Perhps on the battery or Starter Motor. Take off the large connections on both, clean (with wet and dry paper if corroded or wire brush). Grease and then replace. Rob
  2. Well we went out yesterday. Got out about lunchtime and the Harbour was like a mill pond, and so was out side the harbour. Too good to be true I thought. It was my first trial of the plotter I won in the Open, the maps arrived in the morning which was good timing! How did I manage without one before, superb! We blasted to Swanage in no time and the moment we dropped the hook did the wind pick up and sea chop. Managed a few dogs and some Pout - one really nice one kept for tea. Headed in at 4 just as the light was fading. Nice to be out, the home made cuddy is heavenly! Rob
  3. I am thinking of heading out tomorrow from Poole, due to tide a XChurch. Does anyone have any ideas for marks for cod, or even a late bass? Otherwise some small conger would be fun, having caught my first last Sunday! Thanks Rob
  4. Hi Andrew, Remember trailering means trailer maintenance. Brakes will be needed if the trailer gross weight is more than 750kg. If you can get away with a lighter craft below the 750kg and your towing vehicle is capable you can reduce the maintenance time and \ or cost. Your in the right place if you have questions you want answered, I'm sure the guys here will help you out. Rob
  5. I have just seen a review in "Sports Boat and Rib" Magazine about a product called a super soaker. You drop it in your tank attached to a cord, it soaks up only water not fuel etc then retrieve with cord! No use to me with my outboard but I thought it may be good for other members. I thought
  6. Well done, what a start to 2008! Rob
  7. I can confirm the boat was SHA-KING of Poole. Thanks Paul Rob
  8. Results see link: http://www.fishingpoole.co.uk/html/cod___flounder_comp.htm Rob
  9. Alun, You said on the way out that Bass were on the cards with the current water temerature. Never a truer word spoken! Rob
  10. I saw said beast and it was beastly!

Paul, Thanks for the offer but it is done, me too waiting! Unfortunatley no local Chandlerys have the Navionics charts in stock so I am waiting for the to arrive. Mid you I have been pike fishing, lost a good fish on a dead bait, below where we went plugging. At least it woke me up for a bit!! Rob

    Birthday...

    Happy Birthday Paul. Enjoy. Rob
  13. Very nice Paul - I'm still wondering whether it is worth the trade off of post Xmas shopping!! Rob
  14. Better luck next time Charlie, Nice mild day to be out though, I was amazed how warm (in relation to time of year) it was. Rob
  15. I had no takes for a trip today (not suprised as it was a late decision to go). However, with no crew I decided to go Pike fishing, I had one bite in the hour and a half I spent fishing and I lost it! I am sure it was a double figure fish so I will be back to heave it out soon (maybe not tomorrow but soon!). Happy Christmas all. Rob
  16. Well done Alun, sounds like you had a good day. I'm sure your making the most of that hamper! I put my winner back at Baiter, gave it instructions to find you but it obviously didn't listen! Perhaps didn't fancy it's chances of freedom with you having a boat called Gastronaught! Rob

    Lowrance LMS-520C

Thanks for your in put guys - Navionics it is I think. Rob
  18. Just wondering if anyone is going out tomorrow? I am thinking of whether to got out or not? Availble to crew also. Thanks Rob
  19. Having won a Lowrance LMS-520C in the PBSBAC open last weekend I am now at the point of fitting it. Please can anyone advise if I am correct in thinking that I need to buy charts? If so which are the best ones? The Lowrance website suggests the following are available: Optional MapCreate
  20. The raffle was a fix,
  21. Those weights Indespension must be trailer capacity. This site suggests their Pneumatic JWheel can take 75kg nose weight: http://www.autow.co.uk Have a chat with Paul J, I think his trailer is too big!! Rob
  22. Nose weight depends on your towing vehicle! Nearer to its limit the better. Mine is set to 60\70kg ish as at 90kg (my cars limit) is SO heavy. Can you shuffle ST back on the bunks and move the winch post back? I know you can't move the wheels easily because of the bow in the trailer. Could you get round this some how? I'm sure if we put our heads together and have a few beers we could come up with a plan! Rob
  23. Charlie, You can't blame this one on me! Or maybe this is karma for stealing the charger from my new drill! Perhaps the gear selector under the cowling is not working correctly. Check the linkage is working smoothly and correctly. There is no such "clutch" but they straight cut gear just "pop" in gear and out. That is why they often are more noise going in to reverse than forward (shape of the teeth I think). Rob
  24. Charlie, Get the pneumatic one, they don't stop on small stones or gravel like the hard ones. I know you have a lot of weight on the nose of your trailer so maybe it would be worth finding out how much weight they can take! Also, get a hitch stand for ST when on the drive to take the weight off the J Wheel. Rob
  25. Paul - are you saying I'm wasting my time trying to keep this one alive in the garage!
