  7. An interesting read, especially with regard to mangroves. Maybe the cost of catch and sell v sport fishing could come to light? (Though this is Scotland initially). http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25021369

    Hi all

Add you boat name and crew to the list here: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/ipb/topic/15136-cod-flatfish-ray-comp-17th-nov/ Then go fishing, weigh anything you catch that is flat, a ray or cod. Then report it back on a thread that will be started tomorrow. Weighing is done on trust, lowest steady weight when at sea (minus the net!!!). So faith can be returned should you wish. R
  11. I'm sure they will have safety boats etc. The best thing with the shipping lanes is to stop, let the big boys pass and then go. The fact they don't change course helps and they are only 1/200ft wide! Hope they 1 get the tides right, 2 get the weather, 3 go in with their eyes open. R

    Hi all

Also, you need to book in to the comp - look for cod, ray & flatfish thread. Bit if a weird combo, but the cod comp was delayed so added to the usual flatfish and ray comp. Rules are here somewhere, so many hrs of fishing, so many hooks and rods and 2 competent people onboard for safety (they don't need to be a member of the club to count). Unless kayaks, they fish in pairs instead.

    Hi all

Welcome, make sure you have paid up today to ensure you could win tomorrow! But don't win, as I for one won't be amused!!! Not sure if said already, but we listen on Channel 6 and answer by boat name or "Any Poole Bay Small Boats". Some boats fly a red and yellow flag, which helps identify a club boat. Rob
  14. Shhhh - weather looks good, i'm excited!! Whoop Whoop, i love flounder fishing!
  15. They catch em in there - deep water \ main channel I believe.
  16. Or a MolaMola, they grow big! Plus I grabbed / landing netted one autumn a couple of years ago (on JV with assistance from Adam & CharlieA) when released it went off like a rocket!!! Rob

  20. Neal does put his crew on the cod when needed!! ;o)
  21. What is this obsession of needing bigger boats? Size doesn't matter, or so I am regularly told! With a tiddler you can be towed about tiring the fish, bit like the yellow barrels in that film!!!
  22. I think you are thinking of this Paul: http://jetskibrian.com/2012/08/17/fishing-radio-and-animal-planet/brian-jet-ski-at-dock-2/
  23. Tow bar?
  24. I don't think arrived and don't think if will Graham!! Shame as the forecast seems to have got it wrong today. Just seen AJ and he was heading out for the afternoon. Rob
  25. Shark! Go on Nige, you know you want to! We need a proper shark to be caught in club waters!! Rob
