  1. All, My neighbour had an unused blue barrel, guessing 120 litres that has never been used. Clamp on lid too (you know the sort that most of us use as a live bait well. It is slightly flattened on two opposite sides which makes it slightly narrower and I assume for more compact storage. I am looking for £20 to go to charity. Let me know if you're interested or make an offer if you are a tight git! Thanks, Rob

Im sure Mike, but it gives an idea of the strength of the bolt sizes in a controlled situation, I would expect snatch loading capacity is a minefield to try and measure etc ect. Chances are the poorly Maintained mooring buoy will break away from its anchor. Didn't that happen to a club boat last year?

Crikey Mike, now you have scared him!!!!!! Seriously good advice / good for thought though! All sorts of info on sheer strength of 316 online. Found this but it doesn't advise if 316 or 304 etc: http://www.bssa.org.uk/topics.php?article=127

Can you advise on the make/ model of each?
  6. I am on the case and will advise!
  7. Get a cheap landing net pole, the aluminium ones are sturdy but a carbon one will be lighter (but knock it and it could snap at any moment!).

  10. Loads of guys here at Cobbs, how about dry stack there? How about dry storage at Rockley?- prob cheapest about and they are a few members there too! (But further from the entrance of the harbour which is a nice cruise and plenty of time to scrub the decks!
  11. If it is in HD mode, you need a beast of a laptop to process and run that video. My 2 yr old work laptop (nothing special graphic card wise) can't pal smooth HD video. Set everything to capture on low res, low gps etc and see if that works. Rob
  12. My icom has been on JoJo for 9 yrs, and practically outdoors. All present and correct! Icom do a second handset that can operate all functions from say, on deck. Not a bad thing, Make a dsc call without having to go back down below!
  13. Advice: take a force4 catalogue with you, some new things there are not or only slightly cheaper, and your chance of being able to return if faulty at the Jumble / to that seller is a pain in the rear!!!! Beware! But for used stuff and crap it is great!!! Best thing I got was a spare trailer wheel for a friends run to tip trailer and Charlie A found a matching seat for his Shetland, what are the chances!!
