  1. If you get problems with starting the engine as well check that nice thick red wire attached to your battery They can corrode easily and you end up with a pile of green dust when you investigate always worth checking when a problem with electrics starts Tony
  2. Lost for words in these situations At least the french eat their small fish rather than throwing them back dead A case for dispensing with minimum sizes and working on minimum net sizes Tony

  8. In Memoriam With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.
  9. I was using a 7.5kg brucetype anchor with 10 meters of 8mm chain and 160 m of 14mm multiplait the give in the multiplait is good at preventing breakouts remember to use a good quality ( thick) cable tie on the trip on the anchor or else this will give causing a breakout Tony

    Joke

Nelson Mandela is sitting at home watching TV and drinking a beer when he hears a knock at the door When he opens it, he is confronted by a little Chinese man, clutching a clip board and yelling, 'You Sign! You sign!' Behind him is an enormous truck full of car exhausts. Nelson is standing there in complete amazement, when the Chinese man starts to yell louder, 'You Sign! You sign!' Nelson says to him, 'Look, you've obviously got the wrong man', and shuts the door in his face. The next day he hears a knock at the door again. When he opens it, the little Chinese man is back with a huge truck of brake pads. He thrusts his clipboard under Nelson's nose, yelling, 'You sign! You sign!' Mr Mandela is getting a bit hacked off by now, so he pushes the little Chinese man back, shouting: 'Look, go away! You've got the wrong man. I don't want them!' Then he slams the door in his face again. The following day, Nelson is resting, and late in the afternoon, he hears a knock on the door again. On opening the door, there is the same little Chinese man thrusting a clipboard under his nose, shouting, 'You sign! You sign!' Behind him are TWO very large trucks full of car parts. This time Nelson loses his temper completely, he picks up the little Man by his shirt front and yells at him: 'Look, I don't want these! Do you understand? You must have the wrong name! Who do you want to give these to?' The little Chinese man looks very puzzled, consults his clipboard, and says: (It's a beauty) (Wait for it) (Get your best Chinese accent ready) 'You not Nissan Main Deala?'

  20. I also use the Shakespear Beta box It gives me enough room for my tackle I have the seat adaptation from when I fished from the shore which makes it easier to carry and more comfortable to sit on Try one of these Adam it should be ok for you Tony
  21. We launched serenity at 12:30 and made our way down the harbour with water splashing over the roof. A quick phone call to a friend on the Shieldhall identified a complete lack of small boatsand even the Belles and greenslades boats came back. Any way display was cancelled so we had lunch in the harbour and a lot of excitement getting back onto the pontoon at Rockley Try again tomorrow Tony & Lorraine
  22. I put nylon rollers on my trailer some years ago they make life much easier Do ensure that you do not release the boat until you are ready to launch as she will go straight away if you are on a slope. I manager to launch my boat on the slipway at Cobbs about 20 feet from the water. Always keep your engine up in case of this. many thanks to the guys there who helped me get it back on again without laughing at mee too much. tony
  23. Nigel As Martin states I have recently fitted a heater to my boat Give me a call on 07733101037 to discuss I bought the kit from Clive at G&C marine which included wiring loom, fuel pump, switch, exhaust and brackets. He also provided a installation manual. The most harrowing part is drilling a hole in your perfectly good hull for the exhaust. With a bit of planning the rest is easy Tony
  24. I know how you feel Adam i spent 5 hours last weekend antifouling Serenity It is only to pretty up the boat as she is on a dry stack but makes her look tidier. You get a nice cosy feeling when you finish, just like warming up your wetsuit on a cold day. Like martin I like her to be stored out of the water, always safe in a storm and reduces maintenance and anxious nights. Last antifoul 3 years ago. Tony
  25. I have a 160c on Serenity as the new Garmins are so small It works fine you are welcome to come out and see it work Tony
