    Scarecrow

factual inaccuracy there... a snowman is incapable of turning, unless he or she was constructed with a spine and complementary muscles to turn it.. and as this is an unlikely possibility.... get your coat! Dan (and on that note ill get mine.... )
  3. wow she looks HUGE! anything behind the name? 'troms'? Dan
  4. any luck today andy? i cba 2 post in catch reports, because we caught a solitary garfish, after struggling to ground the baits on the spoil grounds, and then moving into poole patch, where we had sprats jumping around us (where the garfish was hooked on a rapala), and then went drifting up n down the training bank! cod inside the harbour you say corky?! do tell!! Dan

  11. i think that it is a acceptable to keep a fish, providing you are going to eat it in the near future! not just piling it up in the deep freeze! and that you are only keeping what you are eating! though i respect the anglers choice as to what they keep, i find it worrying when you see articles in angling magasines, where the final shot is a group of fishermen holding a large number of small inediable rays and dogfish! IMHO, as long as it is going to be made use of in the forseeable future, its okay to keep! this policy stops the above, and means that there is some taken home! (providing you can atchully catch something... unlike me... ) Dan
  12. a bit over saturated there duncan! his thumb is pink!! nice enhancement on the fish though! and a great catch mike!! :O Dan

  15. good plan, but a tweak on the 25% idea.... what about taking it against any club record for the species (records before the comp) as if you caught a v. large un recorded nfsa fish, you would be a bit peeved to get 25%! just a thought.. Dan
  16. i believe that alot of the reports (similar and shorter than that), have found that often the standard solid radar reflectors are almost a false economy, and put you into a false sense of security, thinking that you will be seen by the big ships. from the other tests, i think it was found that only the active (i.e. sends an amplified 'pulse' back) radar reflectors were truly effective, as the others just had so many limiting factors. however the sea-me reflectors are expensive... can you put a price on safety though?!! (much better than thinking your safe!) Dan

    Help

make sure that your engine is fully down (though usually the problem is getting the nose up at planing speeds), and what about keeping an anchor/ chain up front! that would help! Dan

what is the purpose of using mono as a backing? is it to stop the braid cutting into the spool? i have just used 2 strips of a thick plastic bag (not supermarket type, but thicker), the covered smoothly with electrical tape, leaving a small raise off the spool diameter, and a thin amount of firm cushioning! is this ok? Dan
  19. okay thanks martin! obviously didnt have it last time i was there... lol! Dan
  20. dont know if anyone will see this intime, but where can i get some boxes of frozen squid around the westbourne area, for me to go out later! ( i no that castaways does rag and sandeel, but squid?) thanks Dan
  21. if you do decide to ringo, make sure that the bridle is placed high up, as otherwise you get lots of spray on the rider, making it an uncomfortable ride, and the tube does not swing out aswell when you turn. we found this when we had 2 towing eyes on either side of the engine, which was then below the waterline when on the plane, so loads of spray came up! now we fix the bridle really wide up where the moring cleats are, and its much better. Ebay has some really good deals, such as rage watersports (a shop in gurnsey) which i brought 2 52inch ringo's, 2 tow ropes and bridle for
