interesting to think in the wider box than fishing.. lobbyists etc... you have all watched the show (and so have i), whether you enjoy it, hate it, despise it, or just want something to write on the forum, the show is a success... you watch it, so do millions of others, so advertisers pay. whether you watch it to enjoy or hate.. ch5 will surely continue with this theme / genre as it gets audiances who take in the paid adverts! 2 things.... one it was the male catfish they were catching, as they are the protective ones that swallow your hand... and surely being yanked out of the water by their (thick) mouth is a damn sight better than being pulled from the depth by a small, sharp hook? also re: use of the gaff, i thought that was almost necessary on some of the palaegic fish? how else do you get some mahousive (okay not the small ones on the programme) tuna into the boat? have caught our only bass off rapalas! last season was using a white rapala, with orange belly, however this year it seems that a greenish 'berkley frenzy' has been uber effective, outfishing the other 3 - 0 last trip! it has neutral buoyancy, and a rattle inside it! may ways to use them , spinning etc.. but we mainly troll with a couple lures behind the boat, allowing to cover more ground! setup wise, we use a 4-5ft leader of amnesia, as it straightens out pretty quickly and doesnt kink! I dont have any 'special rods',,, as its 1 ugly stik for everything! lol not an expert, but thats what we do! Dan
