We on Sammy decided to try towards Bournmouth for the first time. Had a drift on Poole Patch and crewman Bill only had 2 mackeral one of which fell off and a pout! Went over to Boscombe pier and found Jimbob and again started drifting and was quickly into a bream, Bill also had bream, underlate ray. We then headed back to Poole but had a long drift in the Swash and Bill picked up a Bass which was just undersized. Last stop was at Brownsea castle but nothing there. Not a good day for fish numbers for us but at least we are starting to find the fish which is a start. Great day weather wise Well done to Jimbob on a great total Coddy

Adam and I were at the last boat jumble and talked to the new guys at indespension who said fitting a solid rod from the over run to compensator makes the brakes more positive and effective. I have been told, but not tried it yet, is to take off the cables to the drum and pour diesel in the cable or let it soak in a tub of diesel overnight. Stops rusting or sticking inner cable to outer. Coddy

As Martin said the trasnsducer needs to be covered in water to work at is best so make up a small tub/box, epoxy the t/ducer into tub/box, fix tub/box to lower skin, fill tub with water and fit a water tight lid with the wires sealed with silicon or grease. Make sure the transducer is level with the sea water otherwise you will not see straight down Job done Coddy

Is that from the compensator to the drum? If so would love to see how that was done. Coddy

Funuro (that's the make of the fish finder) do a fancy transom bracket Sam. The trouble is that it costs a fortune. I am trying to find a less expensive way. I think I am going to follow Martins advice and go through the double skin and through mount in the outer hull. Mike Mike Why not fit the transducer in the well area at the back of the boat, where all the excess water drains into or where you keep the fuel tanks. I had one mounted there in my old Seahog and it worked fine, I used epoxy rather than silicone as it did not have any bubbles in it. Coddy

Hi Kam Sorry about spelling and yes it is an etec 75. On a Warrior 150 it has become a missile 35+kts and more economic than a Mariner 60hp 4 stroke Turn the key, watch the lights come on then starts first time every time. He did have a bit of a hic up when he ran out of fuel the first time but all sorted now. Had to go back to supplier for some reason Coddy

Hi Alun A freind of mine has a Warrior 150 with a ecotec 75hp on the back He goes out a lot on his own and fishes from Eastney. If you want to see some reports from owners then check out my web site Fishing Boats and Equipment I have had a SeaHog Hunter which was great as a starter boat but when it turns rough the Warrior 165 I have now wins hands down. Downside of 165's they can get a bit heavy when loaded with everything, need to watch the weight for the car. If you want to look around or try a 165 give me a call Coddy

Have you got your radio set on auto, manual or off reply? Might make all the differance Auto - will of course send a reply automaticly, DSC distress always does this Manual - You need to PTT to acknowledge Off - as it says Coddy

Nice one mate I can suggest the same as Adam, if you want a look around my 165 you are more than welcome. I would also love a boat report from you when you have had a chance to play with her for my web site. One tip if you don't already know keep the radio and GPS wires well away from each other to reduce interferance. Seems its a common problem. May all your fish be big ones but smaller than mine Coddy
