Hi Brian Try this page for capacity http://www.hainessuzukimarine.com.au/conte...eID=29&mainID=3 Oil pan - 0.70ltr Suggest give local Sukuki dealer a call Dave
  2. Mike It is bit of a trek but huss can be found just around the corner of St.Albans head near Chapmans pool, be warned if you anchor don't go in too close as it is very rocky and last time I lost the anchor! Dave
  3. Hi Martin Had this guy make me a cover for Lady C and it seemed good to me. Not the cheapest but good work. If you ring Dave Dundas of L'Artisan (Parkstone Bay Marina) on 07734002036, he has a mate who will sort out your canopy for you. When you ring Dave tell him you are from PBSBAC and you might get a bit of discount. Dave
  4. Good luck Nigel I have fished over in Ireland near Roselare and know how good it can be. May the weather gods be with you. Dave
  5. I have spoken to Absolute Aqua about O/B maintenence course and yes the RYA are in the process of setting the sylibus up at the moment. I have suggested that as a club we could be their trial people for the first course they run. The response was positive so keep an eye out for this thread to continue in the Autum/Winter Dave
  6. For those who like to flush the ob but are on a mooring with no access to fresh water, many people have made up a fresh water tank of approx 5-10galls with a hose that connects to the flushing point or a set of muffs over the water intake. The tank has a tap, so they open the tap having fitted the outlet to the engine and start it up on tick over. Yes the leg is in the tilted position and it seems this has no detrimental effect on the engine or flushing. Downside is that you need to top up the tank from time to time and carry this weight around all day unless you leave it in your dingy. Just a thought Dave

    Scales

I have found that digital scales are unreliable on a moving boat so have stopped using them, plus the salt water enviroment seems to make them useless quite quickly. Dave
  10. Does it come with free sheep????????? Sorry couldn't resist Dave
  11. I too would like to add my thanks to Rob & the team for a good comp and seemed well supported. My thanks to Dave Evans on Wight Magic in giving me and Bill a seat on his super craft. A good day was had and a good bit of banter between us all including that handsome devil Jim (Small Fry)! Dave

    Air show

We were back on the cliffs today (Saturday) and got almost the same ideal spot as yesterday. Downside as been said was only two planes flew, both choppers. Cloud base was just over 300ft most of the time. Prop planes needed 500ft and jets 1000 minimuum to fly, shame as loads of people turned up Can't make Sunday so I expect it to be good, Good luck to those who go Dave

    Air show

We were sitting on top of the cliff enjoying the view just by the centre line. Glad I was on tera firma as it looked very lumpy out there Shame the cloud base was so low and the Red Arrows having to cut their display short even with x2 aircraft short! We were also at the show on Thursday PM but down Boscome end, could not see everything clearly but a good display from most aircraft. The Hunter and F16 was the best of the day, Friday's display. Will be there on Saturday, just hope the Vulcan and Typhoon fly! Dave

    Lovely day

Well done Jim Nice to see you out and about, just need to get your boat out a bit more now. Can't recall what 6.30am is like but I bet it was quiet. Well done to Alun in getting another club member into Bass. Dave
  18. Hi Paul Sounds interesting but it all depends on price, I am on a very strict budget If you make the meeting perhaps we could have a chat. Might even buy you a drink and get it cheaper Dave
  19. Hi Charlie The year with all the growth was when I did not anti-foul the hull for 3 months! Thus why I had all the growth and those pictures are now 2.5yrs old!!!!! Since then I used International Uno which I thought was very good but it only lasted 8 months! This I later learnt was a season!! Seems that many people only use their boat for the summer so only need a short life span for anti-foul. After talking to many people, most use the cheapest they can get as in their words it all seems to last about the same time. My problem is that in Holes Bay it is know to be hard fouling plus my mooring is near an underwater electrical cable which I think makes things worse. (just my thoughts) Heard only good things about Jotun so thought I would give it a try, wont know now as the boat has gone. Dave
  20. Has anyone got a GPS or plotter kicking around they no longer require? If so I am looking for one but it has to be cheap. Thanks for looking Dave

    Fuel Gauge

Craig If you need someone to pick it up for you, let me know as I live in Broadstone Dave
  22. Adam I would recommend these, Jotun, web site here http://www.shepherdmarine.com/index.php I used the 36 month version on Lady C in May this year including the trim tabs and it showed no signs of wearing away. Many of the commercial boys use this as well as "proper" ships/tankers etc. Good price as well Dave
  23. There was an Uptide boom produced, not sure who by, but you could set the trace distance at any thing you wanted to. When you had a fish on the boom tube slide down the trace so it was easier to recover. I can't recall who made them, thought it was Breakaway but can't see them on their web site. If I find a spare one in my shed I wil put up a picture and post. Dave
  24. Welcome to the mad house I think others forgot to mention that it is tradition for new members to buy the first round on a club night for all committee members! Dave
  25. Hi John I think it is a Baillon's Wrasse Dave
