Here is a copy of a message I received from Andy at WAC. Dave ----------------------------------------------------- To All Friends of WAC Some sad news after 15 years WAC will be closing its doors at the Old Harbour House in mid march . The Great news is that we will be opening a much bigger store just across the Harbour bridge on the 19th March. The details are on the attached brochure which is in publisher those that have not got publisher, page one reads; The New Shop (Old Kessock Models) is just over the bridge opposite the Co-Op & Golden Lion it will be fitted out to be an anglers haven. We will be able to display a much larger range of goods in bright modern surroundings that will hopefully make your tackle browsing experience a much greater pleasure. It will also help us improve and expand on the services we currently offer you. Our opening times and dedicated staff will remain the same as will our telephone number 01305 777771. There will be special promotional deals and free gifts on the opening weekend so please come and check us out! Exciting times we want to bring an experience that you will not forget when you leave (we will all be in our Man Kini's) Look forward to seeing you all soon Andy, Charlotte and all at WAC.

I hopefully have attached a graph showing the number of differant species caught over the last two years from the Year Long Boat Species Comp. Might help give suggestions when to get out. I know weather and sea conditions make a differance. Dave

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet known. The new element, governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, according to the team of research scientists in Budapest, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. Governmentium has a normal half-life of two to six years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, governmentium

Whilst I agree many people buy on line for their major tackle purchases many only use the "shop" for smaller and cheaper bits. Many in the tackle trade also have an online shop to keep up with the competition and unless business move into these sort of marketing areas, most retail shops will struggle. I see no reason why they could not produce their own range of end tackle sold slightly cheaper than the branded names. These days any sale which makes a profit is better than none. Dave

I personaly think that with all the rain we have had recently the salinity of the harbour is not condusive to bringing on the flounders onto feed. Apart from that they seem b***ly hard to find! It's a bit like watching paint dry Dave

Supported software? Dear Technical Support, 18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from DrinkingMates 4.2, which I had used for years without any trouble. However, there are apparently conflicts between these two products and the only solution was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off. To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several other applications, such as LadsNightOut 3.1, Football 4.5, and Playboy 6.9. Successive versions of Girlfriend proved no better. I tried a shareware program, Slapper 2.1, but it had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks. Eventually, I tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to discover that when these two systems detected each other they caused severe damage to my hardware. I eventually upgraded to Fianc

Words of wisdom ________________________________________ Keep this in mind the next time you are about to repeat a rumour or spread gossip. In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day an acquaintance ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about Diogenes?" "Wait a moment," Socrates replied, "Before you tell me I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test." 'Triple filter?" asked the acquaintance. "That's right," Socrates continued, "Before you talk to me about Diogenes let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" "No," the man said, "Actually I just heard about it." "All right," said Socrates, "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about Diogenes something good?" "No, on the contrary..." "So," Socrates continued, "You want to tell me something about Diogenes that may be bad, even though you're not certain it's true?" The man shrugged, a little embarrassed. Socrates continued, "You may still pass the test though, because there is a third filter, the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about Diogenes going to be useful to me?" "No, not really." "Well," concluded Socrates, "If what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even useful, why tell it to me or anyone at all?" The man was bewildered and ashamed. This is an example of why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem. It also explains why Socrates never found out that Diogenes was shagging his wife.

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place. ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning? WITNESS: He said , 'Where am I, Cathy?' ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you? WITNESS: My name is Susan! ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact? WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks. ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active? WITNESS: No , I just lie there. ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis , does it affect your memory at all? WITNESS: Yes. ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory? WITNESS: I forget.. ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot? ___________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Do you know if your daughter has ever been involved in voodoo? WITNESS: We both do. ATTORNEY: Voodoo? WITNESS: We do.. ATTORNEY: You do? WITNESS: Yes , voodoo. ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Now doctor , isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep , he doesn't know about it until the next morning? WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam? ____________________________________ ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he? WITNESS: He's 20, much like your IQ. ___________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken? WITNESS: Are you shitting me? _________________________________________ ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th? WITNESS: Yes. ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time? WITNESS: Getting laid. ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: She had three children , right? WITNESS: Yes. ATTORNEY: How many were boys? WITNESS: None. ATTORNEY: Were there any girls? WITNESS: Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney? ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated? WITNESS: By death.. ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated? WITNESS: Take a guess. ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual? WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female? WITNESS: Unless the Circus was in town I'm going with male. _____________________________________ ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney? WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work. ______________________________________ ATTORNEY: Doctor , how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people? WITNESS: All of them.. The live ones put up too much of a fight. _________________________________________ ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral , OK? What school did you go to? WITNESS: Oral... _________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body? WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time? WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished. ____________________________________________ ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample? WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question? ______________________________________ And last: ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse? WITNESS: No. ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure? WITNESS: No. ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing? WITNESS: No.. ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy? WITNESS: No. ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor? WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar. ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless? WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law. Dave

Hi When I had a 165 it was a Mk2 model made in 2002. I bought it second hand and had the boat for approx 3 years and I can't say that I recall the floor being bumpy. I did however have matting over the floor it that would have made any differance. I had problems with the engine but that is another issue. Dave

I was doing a bit of surfing and came accross this fish ruler. Thought it would be useful to others Dave ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's not all that often you discover a 'homegrown' angling product that you really want to get behind, but on discovering TKR's tremendous looking Fishing Ruler I knew I had to get hold of one. Consequently once I'd recieved both the standard TKR Fishing Ruler and the ingenious TKR Extendable Fishing Ruler I was delighted. You may be thinking, "yeah, but it's a measuring stick - I've seen them before", but check out these features for a start:

This may help, if you zoom in on your chart of the plotter, this will help reduce any re-draw and speed things up also you can keep a better track of where you are going. Many plotters allow you to change the track colour so if it is foggy suggest using a differant colour trace than normal so you can see where you have come from. I would also suggest that on a good clear day, when you have some spare time, is to load waypoints at regular intervals as a "Route" into the plotter from the chain ferry to you normal destination. You can then switch the route on and follow the route quite easily. If it is foggy when going out you can reverse the route to find your way out of the harbour. When you have done the above check it out on a clear day to make sure you have not missed anything. The biggest problem is those who have to go through the lifting bridge, if the power fails as it did recently, the air height board was down as well so it could be a little bit of brown trouser moment if it is near the limit of your clearance.
