  2. Hi james In response of your question on the use of a car battery, no problem, however if you need to buy a battery I would suggest you get a leisure battery for the electronics, lights etc as these batteries can cope with long slow discharge but do not like rapid discharge such as engine starting. So use a good car type battery for engine starting and a leisure type battery for other uses. I would also ensure you have everything fused or a circuit breaker on each power lead. This will help to prevent overheating of the wiring system. There are a number of club members who have electrical experiance in the marine field. Just keep asking. Coddy

  18. Hi Alan On my Warrior I don't have a anchor storage locker so keep the warp and anchor etc in a tub in the deck area. Before I launch I put the warp around the bow post and back into the warp tub. When I want to drop anchor I can drop it over the side and control the length of warp I need all from inside the deck space. I have a solid Alderney ring so I just clip the buoy onto this and let it go when the anchor hits the bottom. Now I have a front hatch door which I can open to tie off the rope but why not fit a cleat on gunnel side of the deck and tie it off there. Colin Penny on Flamer3 does exactly this method, except he has a powerful winch to haul the anchor back up! The warp is still going out the front of the boat over the bow roller so it is in the right place. When recovery is required, just lift the anchor in the normal manner and recover over the side. As you coil the rope back into the tub, at the end of the day you still have a length around the bow post which you can recover back in the harbour, it will also help next time you go out as it will be ready for easy deployment. Hope this helps, it is harder to type the discription than actualy do. Coddy

    The Journey of Man

The Journey of Man When I was 14, I hoped that one day I would have a girlfriend. When I was 16, I got a girlfriend, but there was no passion, so I decided I needed a passionate girl with a zest for life. In college I dated a passionate girl, but she was too emotional. Everything was an emergency; she was a drama queen, cried all the time, and threatened suicide. So I decided I needed a girl with stability. When I was 25, I found a very stable girl, but she was boring. She was totally predictable and never got excited about anything. Life became so dull that I decided I needed a girl with some excitement. When I was 28, I found an exciting girl, but I couldn't keep up with her. She rushed from one thing to another, never settling on anything. She did mad, impetuous things and made me miserable as often as happy. She was great fun initially and very energetic, but directionless. So I decided to find a girl with some real ambition. When I turned 31, I found a smart ambitious girl with her feet planted firmly on the ground and married her. She was so ambitious that she divorced me and took everything I owned. I am now older and wiser, and looking for a girl with big t*ts. Coddy

    Merry Fisher 585

I think Jeaneu have a problem with their webmaster If you look at the 655 Marlin it boast a 110hp inboard but the spec states a Nanni 85hp! Tom, don't want to be too picky but I think someone needs to get the site checked and corrected asap. Re Beam dimensions, the 655 is the same max as is hull beam so I suppose it means it has straight sides. Coddy
  21. Hi I did mean nuts and bolts and not wood screws This is a section from the web site listed above which should resolve the nut fixing problem: "The BigHead range of 316S11 stainless steel marine fasteners makes the installation of immensely strong fastening points, inside or outside any boat or yacht hull or superstructure, a quick and simple task. The specially selected high-strength BigBond adhesives range completes the job in minutes, by bonding the fasteners instantly and permanently to plastics, GRP, composites, steel, alloys and wood." 22. Looking at the Rocna and Manson, I would suggest a few drilled holes to allow you to trip the anchor. I did make contact with the designer of the Rocna a couple of years ago you was just about to sell this anchor into the UK market. I would suggest you make contact with him or look on his website http://www.rocna.com/home.php?region=uk if you have not already and see how they have arranged differant setups. Regards Coddy
  23. Hi Paul As you are fitting this after new purchase I am assuming, I would ring Paul at Warrior and ask his advice. If not a new boat, I would make a marine ply disc slightly larger than the base plate of the pedistal. Then glass it onto the floor. You can then screw the base plate to the ply disc without any worry of going through the floor with screws. I would use blind nuts/fixings on the underside of the ply disc so that the screws are already there for fitting the pedestal. Look here for what I mean under Marine http://www.bighead.co.uk/ Hope this helps Coddy
