  1. Hi Charlie Sorry to hear the bad news Have a look at Bill Higham's web site, he is based in the Midlands but has thousands of outboard spares. http://www.billhigham.co.uk/ If you find something let me know as I may be able to pick it up for you as I travel up and down the country nearly every week! Mike it is a Johnson 50hp 2-stroke 2003 Coddy

    Magic Frog

A Woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods. She went into the woods to look for it and found a frog in a trap. The frog said to her, 'If you release me from this trap, I will grant you three wishes.' The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, 'Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes. Whatever you wish for, your husband will get times ten!' The woman said, 'That's okay.' For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world. The frog warned her, 'You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to'. The woman replied, 'That's okay, because I will be the most beautiful Woman and he will have eyes only for me.' So, KAZAM-she's the most beautiful Woman in the world! For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world. The frog said, 'That will make your husband the richest man in the world, and he will be ten times richer than you.' The woman said, 'That's okay, because what's mine is his and what's his is mine.' So, KAZAM-she's the richest woman in the world! The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, 'I'd like a mild heart attack.' Moral of the story: Women are clever. Don't mess with them. Attention female readers : This is the end of the joke for you. Stop here and continue feeling good. Male readers : Please scroll down. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .. ... ... ... .... ... ... ... ... The man had a heart attack ten times milder than his wife. Moral of the story : Women are really dumb but think they're really smart. Let them continue to think that way and just enjoy the show. PS: If you are a woman and are still reading this; it only goes to show that women never listen...now run along and put the kettle on, there's a love. Coddy

  6. Hi Bob Not sure if you have seen this advert but if his has a 160hp engine and your getting a 190 I sould think it will hadly touch the water at WOT See here http://www.findafishingboat.com/detail.php?aid=10112 As a thought he might be worth contacting for any useful hints and tips! Coddy
  7. Welcome Dale Good to see people to the East of us joining in. Any fishing reports from your side will always spurs on and hope the fish travel Westwards! Welcome to a friendly, non bitching site! Coddy
  8. Good point Adam, should of thought of that. Seen a boat in Scarbrough but need to transport it back to Poole. My fishing buddy Bill said he can tow, has a L200 so no problems there, just need a trailer that will take about 2 to 2.5tons to borrow/rent Unless someone knows someone who can collect and deliver boats? Lead Moulds

Rob You understand that making leads from club moulds eliminates you from any comps, that includes raffles! Coddy
  10. Well not too sure yet I can't afford such dreams as yours as I have limited funds for fishing. (the FPO has TOLD me that already) I like the Colvic Seaworker but I don't think I could put up with the slow 10-12kts max! I have an eye on a couple to other boats but yet to have sea trials, downside is they are a fair distance away so moving it back to Poole adds more costs. If anyone hears of a 20 - 25ft max fast boat going cheap please let me know! Coddy
  11. Hi Derek Welcome to the forum and club. The AGM is next Thursday 3rd April so you should see plenty of members there. ENjoy your Longliner, as mention on an earlier post I cut my skippering teeth on one of those and found them a good friendly boat. Could even get a folding cuddy for the front, if it is an open boat, so you can sit out of the wind and rain! Coddy
  12. They use this make of engine for Zapcat racing, it's the only manufacture that guarantees the engine for racing! In fact it is the only engine allowed for racing Zapcats! Coddy
  13. Good luck with the sale Rich I am sure she will go quickly, tis a good boat Coddy
  14. Sammy has now been sold and gone. Sad to see her go after 4years but now looking for another BIGGER craft! Coddy

How about this one on Boats and Outboards Ref: IND009 or this Ref: JBT345 or this Ref: JBT344 I would say you have been over quoted. Coddy

    Biodiesel

I am sorry Mike but you have touched a nerve with me regarding environmental issues. I am not prepared to assist much until our politicians start to use public transport instead of gas guzzling cars to drive around in, fly 1st class or hire private planes/helicopters. Stop the waste of paper they generate in all the garbage they turn out in the Houses of Parliament/Commons. I think it is called "Do as I say and not what I do!" Off soap box now Coddy
  18. Having used a Longliner in my previous club for a number of years I would agree with Tom that a max of 10hp would be fine. I know the Orkney advert shows a Honda 15hp but I think this is way overkill. I use to fish on the east coast at Felixstowe and launch from the beach! We needed a good engine to get away from the breaking waves quickly and we used 5hp Seagull engines which were fine and then got a 5hp 4-stroke which went even better. Save your money if buying new and get a cheaper lower horsepower engine. Just a thought, if running a 2-stroke at tickover for a length of time they can cut out/stall or not respond quickly when the throttle is opened, just one of those things with 2-strokes. If you intend to do trolling around the coast go for a 4-stroke if you can. Regards Coddy Oh forgot to add welcome to the best forum

    Big Wave Vids

My son was telling me that the US Coastguards spend a week of being strapped in their boats and rolled over and over until they feel confident in any conditions! Not quite how they train the RNLI boat crews! Coddy
  20. Nice one Adam and Bob I bet you will be out given every chance when she is finished. With a 190bhp in the back I bet she will fly, will you be building it to coded standards? Sounds like a like business venture opertunity going to be on, to save on fuel duty? Good luck and I look forward to seeing how the build proceeds. Coddy

  23. Hi Adam Depends if Sammy is sold by then Coddy
  24. Hi Alan Instead of updating my map card I update my paper charts. If there is a new hazzard I would add it as a mark on the plotter using a suitable symbal. Not all craft are capable of carring a liferaft, for me this would be a good safety option on a suitable craft. Personal flares I thought you carried on you/life jacket pocket and not in a grab bag. Have you got facemask & light for life jackets? Fishfinders help with the definition of the sea floor, not sure if colour makes it better as I don't have one but a high quality screen display makes things clearer. Handheld VHF is a good idea and even a good compass, waterproof torch in the grab bag, not sure if I would need a handheld GPS however. Just my thoughts Coddy
  25. Forgot to add if you buy from Halfords, you can get a 3 year guarantee and they will change it with no quibble after they have tested it with their load tester. One of mine failed after 2 years, gave me a new one to take away. Coddy
